β β β β β My mother, who is in her SIXTIES, wanted to buy 2 watermelons from this stall as she heard that the fruits there were cheap and good.
However, since she was not the strongest, she requested for one of the workers (chubby guy in his 40s) to help her carry the watermelons to the cashier. However, the chubby guy refused time and again (he was not busy either, my mom took a photo of him βworkingβ but I shall not post it here or else that will be doxxing). My mom seeked help from a skinnier guy, but even he refused to help. She ended up having to move the watermelons herself to the cashier to make payment and nearly dropped one of the melons. To make matters worse, one of the lady worker there told her that she would have to pay if she drops the melons. Uhmm hello, my mom requested not one but TWO of ur workers to help but neither of them helped and u dont even have the decency to get them to help? What kind of man are they? :-o
I wasnt there with my mum when she was buying the melons as I did not know she was buying melons at that time, if not this silly incident wouldnt have taken place. But still, the fact that there are 2 grown men working at the fruit stall and neither offered to help her carry the watermelons to the cashier which is literally in their OWN STALL, is just astounding.
Some βmenβ they are.

β β β β β This is one of the best fruit shops in Tiong Bahru. Located across the Tiong Bahru MRT opposite Tiong Bahru Plaza, this shop has the freshest and in season fruits ?????
Accepts Grab Pay, they prices are fair and offers good value for money. A bit difficult to find the shop if 1st time there as itβs the last shop on the Basement towards the car park next door

β β β β β Good variety of fruits depending on your time and day of visit. Reasonable pricing and fruits are generally fresh because of their fast turnover. My main gripe with this place is their rude staff which made me hesitate to return.

β β β β β Very friendly auntie cashier and uncle . They have imported exotic fruits and vegetables at very reasonable prices. Wide range and variety mostly at prices slightly cheaper than supermarket . The fruits I bought each time are 99% guaranteed sweet and deliciously juicy. Do note the β outdoor queue lineβ to the cashier with safe-distancing which can be a little tricky if u are a first timer. Very honest seller as they will weigh yr items (cherries/grapes etc )in front of u before u pay .

β β β β β Very dishonest way of conducting business. My Sister went to the stall to buy this βJapaneseβ melon for $26.50. The melon was wrapped tightly and there was no way to tell its origin. The deceiving Japanese words and premium price would make one think that the melon was from Japan. When my Sister decided to remove the plastic wrap for consumption, she was shocked to find out that the melon was from Vietnam.
I brought the melon down to the stall attempting to get a refund on behalf of my Sister. Spoke to this chubby fair guy in his 40s and requested for a refund but he kept refusing and only allowed exchange with other fruits. The chubby guy had a black face while talking to me and even pushed the blame to my Sister saying that she picked the melon on her own. Hello? There was no mention (signs etc.) of where the melon was from and it was tightly wrapped. How on earth would you expect your customers to know your melon origin?? And if my Sister had knew it was from Vietnam, would she even have paid $26.50 for it?
The third picture showing boxes of apples originating from China and guess whatβs stated on the sign above? βJapan Sweet Appleβ. The text in Mandarin translates to β(Japan seed) Apple. Majority of their customers are elderly folks who canβt read English and therefore do not know that theyβre buying apples from China. Instead they are misled into thinking that itβs from Japan! My mother in law was a victim of it.
I suggest that you conduct your business ethically otherwise one day you will find the authorities knocking on your door.

β β β β β Mainly a fruit shop but with limited vegetables for sale. It sells other food as well and you need to visit the shop what they have. The stuff are fresh and price is very decent. Would be a good place to stop by to get your fresh fruits and limited veggies.
One negative comment is that the fruits and veggies are not displayed properly and I would use the word disorganized. But that is just a minor issue if you are after fruits selling at good prices.
