โ โ โ โ โ I have been following Learning Out Of The Box for the last two years and my kids have attended his classes and joined the parent support group. What I really like about Coach John's approach is that he is not just a Math teacher, but is focused on encouraging our children to change the attitude towards Math. My kids are definitely much more motivated to practise their problem sums and I love the change in their willingness to try the questions.
Keep up the great work!

โ โ โ โ โ The first parent's workshop I went to totally changed my take on primary mathematics. Coach John has made mathematics so easy to understand with easy to follow steps and methods. My 2 kids were with LOB from P3/4 onwards and it has helped them with the subject. The teachers were all wonderful. I still keep the guidebooks today as I find them a wonderful resource. Great job, Coach John and team.

โ โ โ โ โ I first came across LOB via Facebook and bought the first book "PSLE Problem Sum A* Star kit" for my elder girl. Subsequently, I bought some other LOB P5 and P6 books for my younger daughter whilst looking for more Maths helping books for her. I find that the concepts are clearly defined and the solutions are easy to understand. Later, I decided to try out the classes and enrolled my younger girl to CPS, P5 Final Sprint and the PSLE Readiness Course as I find that she needed more support to strengthen her foundation especially the understanding of various concepts and the application. I sat in most of the lessons as I wanted to learn the concepts so that I can guide my daughter. I find that Coach John sincerely has the children's welfare at heart. I like that he always start the lesson with some prep talks giving the children the needed words of encouragement. He willingly extended the duration of each lesson for those who needed further explanations even though it was already way past 9pm. He is very supportive and I was pleasantly surprised that he actually agreed to our invitation and bought his family to the P6 SOTA Art Competition exhibition where my girl's artwork was displayed. I am glad that we met Coach John and I hope my girl can turn from a Math hater to a Math lover soon.

โ โ โ โ โ Learning Out of the Box (LOB) math range of books are a good reference and checkpoint that covers the SG math syllabus.
My child and I will refer to similar math concepts in order to help strengthen our knowledge. Appreciative to Coach John whom also makes relentless efforts to help conduct complimentary math workshops to help both parents and children.
PSLE is just the beginning, not an ending.
The key is the willingness to keep trying and to stay resilient.

โ โ โ โ โ I like that we can talk among ourselves and with Coach John to learn more about the concepts and methods that we are learning. Coach John will also encourage us if we do not know or understand how to solve a question. If we do not know, we can also stay back after class for Coach John to explain the question again. This has helped me be more confident in solving word problems and understand concepts that I did not understand before this.

โ โ โ โ โ Get to know this centre when my boy was in P3. Bought the books and self-coached. Easy to understand.
My boy has always scored pretty well for Maths in school. However he asked for Coach Johnโs online PSLE readiness course. He had fun while learning. Coach John made Maths easy to understand and apply the concepts ??
He secured AL1 for Maths. Thank you Coach John!

โ โ โ โ โ Coach John is an exceptional teacher AND educator!! He's extremely patient with both students/parents and makes sure that you and your child understand the concepts/sums that are being taught.
He's great at motivating kids, too! Children need confidence when it comes to maths and Coach John knows that ---- he peppers classes with humour but at the same time, maintains seriousness during lesson.
If your child is a self-learner, his books are extremely useful. But if kids need help understanding concepts, getting him to teach them and working on the books may be the best thing you can do for them.

โ โ โ โ โ As a language educator myself, I am heartened to see other educators passionately contributing to the education scene to support children. Coach John is an exemplary example of such an educator. He simplifies Math concepts well and writes books that are easy to follow. I bought two of his books as a gift to a student as I found them useful. Coach John also constantly upgrades himself so that he can present his best to his students. His learning centre, LOB ensures that their students are well prepared and taken care of. Parents who teach their children at home or are looking for effective Math lessons can seriously consider LOB. Thumbs up to Coach John and his team! :)
