Meaty Western - 539 Bedok North Street 3

Ordered a chicken cutlet with fries and egg as sides. Waited for 40min, dinner time. The chicken though well seasoned and flavoured, has soggy batter and half the chicken wasn't even covered with the batter as it has fallen off when it was fried. With a waiting time of 40min you would expect that the fries are fresh but they came rather soggy and only warm at best. Also ordered muffins that came with a typical hash brown. For $5, it's better to have it at McD. The sausage was mediocre and everything was just a beige. Doubt I'll patronise again.

Thoroughly enjoyed the black pepper chicken and appreciate this humble gem. Chicken was a big generous piece compared to most western stalls, egg was cooked perfectly with yolk slightly runny, and fries was fried fresh and packed nicely in a bag. Most places would just dump it together with the mains and let it turn soggy. Rarely you will see hawker wearer stalls giving such quality for price. Will return.

Initially wanted to give a 5 stars since I had a very good experience the first time round but the waiting time for the second round made me have second thoughts. Waited 40 mins for my food. And my food was prepared together with the lady behind me which may have extended the waiting time. I think they are seriously understaffed during lunch hour. Only 1 staff was around so I think they could probably have arranged at least one more staff during lunch hour. I hope I will have a better experience the next time round if I come back again Tasty chicken chop with good selection of sides at regular hawker fares.

Been there a few times as food is nice but the portion for garden salad has shrink. Just a few pieces of cutted up lettuce and a cherry tomato consider 1 side. Quite disappointed . Like the service of the cook but not the cashier auntie

We order Carbonara & breaded fish with cheese fries and mashed potato Carbonara- it is one of tastiest dish we eaten Breaded fish- it is normal but with its self made tartar sauce, it taste great. Cheese fries- it is cheesy Mashed potato - may need to improve in the potato it is mashy.. it like baby food but the gravy is nice .

Really lived up to the stall name. Cutlet was well fried and still tender within. Wings did not disappoint as well with flavorful batter and still juicy. Would be back to try the grilled items.

1. Just bought a chicken chop with 2 sides (fries and Mash potato) takeaway today. 2. Had quite a bad experiences with the lady. Upon requesting for extra packet of condiment, she replied me, max 2 packets only. Fair enough, so I asked if I could add ketchup from the available bottle they had (usually meant for dine in) . Without replying, she took away the 2 packets of ketchup out of the plastic bag. (Ok I guessed I get the hint) Thereafter, she handed me the bag without the culteries. I again, requested for one set and she seemed reluctant. :( 3. Mash potato was a total turn off. Tasted weird and seemed to turn stale. (even let my gal tried a bite, she totally turned it away. Overall, potato was watery not to say the sauce. 4. Chip and fries were not so bad. Normal. Give credit to the man who seemed to be the one solely in charge of the kitchen (from preparing, washing and cooking) - I presumed. Overall, I do not think I will patronise this stall again.. maybe it's just not my luck then today that the mashed potato turned stale. Hope the owners can take my feedback and improve their standard of preparing the food, moving forward. I will not usually feedback or do any food reviews that I ate so far..but to this one, is a definitely a no-no for my taste bub I guess. Sorry.

Avoid if you can. The mashed potato tasted stale and sour. The chicken chop is a measly portion with waterly black pepper sauce. The chicken wing and rice has no taste. Only the fries and ketchup are average.
