They have confident students who are affluent in expressing their views. Though heard from some of them that the school does not expand equally much on other niches than performing arts.

I agree with what the both views regarding the school's culture, reason being that while it is understandable that Nan Hua emphasised bilingualism, to many the emphasis some aspects of the school culture is quite redundant and just does not add to the bicultural experience. I still remember how upset my seniors were when the English verse was added to the school song, that the promotion of biculturalism became far too external and redundant. So for a period of time there was that shameful silence when whe school song was played. Although nothing was done and this saddening affair was never brought up again in school, there is still that scar and the question among the alumni of whether there is really need to change the school's heritage to fit the school's SAP status. I hope this has brought about another aspect of the argument on the school's culture. There is really no exclusive answer to this.

I agree with what Zhang Jingxi mentioned on the comments, they show the strengths of the school. - No 'hot' boys or girls.They are 'ugly'. All students, first and foremost, have to study and not care about BGRs. It is good all girls must have short hair there when I was there, though Dance Society members are allowed to have braids. Now every lady is allowed to wear braids, but the point is the same: The focus is to study, and not to strut off style. - 'Full of fake Chinese culture' Nan Hua High is a SAP school. If one has a problem with it, talk to the parents who paid for your school fees. My suggestion: try other schools, like maybe Bukit Panjang Government High or Fairfield Methodist Sec. instead? - Too many celebrations Name me another school that has a history of perhaps 100 years. What is wrong to celebrate one's heritage. It's something to be proud of. I note that Nan Hua is not all perfect, even for a SAP school. The culture, the history and the heritage of Nan Hua High do not guarantee you success in life. Also, the command of English is still weak in the typical Nan Hua High student as compared to other SAP schools - if students get A1 in English in Nan Hua High, as in the case of SCGS and other similarly great schools, then it is definitely great. But I would not trade them all for years to build to nurture the Nan Huarian in me. I'd rate it at 4.5. To pull the score higher, I round it up and will give a 5-star review.

Overall acceptable and I love the school. But the night walk before the exams is really too extreme already (now still have I think). Its a nightmare for girls who are not physically strong like me, especially when you r having a bleeding but don't want to abandon ur friends. I fall ill after the walk and it affected my o level revision. Other school don't have this and still performing very well so perhaps it's time to change to something else, since there is already cohort camps every year.

Very unfriendly security guard who refuses to let parent drive in to pick up extra big musical instrument and force student to carry down the heavy instrument themselves down the slope to the main road. It is very dangerous for them to carry such heavy expensive instrument down the slope. I hope the school can educate the guard and be more compassionate.

A Chinese school with a rich history but the school management failed to set a good role model in educating students to be compassionate towards animals. What an irony! Would never enrol my kids to this school.

would give 0 stars if possible. girls need to take up 30min of time to tie braids, which is their tradition to be "neat and tidy", but tying braids causes a lot of hair loss in my experience, and it wastes a lot of time. female students need to wake up earlier. school is very very stress and teachers are very strict and not kind. don't recommend going to this school unless you are able to get stressed to the point where you have no time to sleep. my friend fainted during cca, as she was doing homework until 2am the previous day. Furthermore, some people here are rude. Me, being unlucky, went to a disruptive class where the boys are bossy and always steals things without giving it back. Teachers do nothing to stop them. I really don't recommend going to this school.
