Nanyang Old Coffee - 268 South Bridge Rd

The food and drink are quite unique as compared to commerical ones like Yakun or Toast Box. Worth to give it a try but it is more expensive than the other and the waiting time is much longer. While waiting, you can visit level 2 for the museum for old school items.

Do give them a try if you are around Chinatown. Their nanyang coffee is definitely more fragrant and smooth than the other popular toast brands.

Good old fashion Nanyang breakfast. The aroma and taste of the coffee definitely brings back memories of the good old times spent with grand parents. The Lor Mai Kai(steamed glutinous rice with meat) is definitely not something I would come back for. It's cold and tasteless Though the coffee smells and taste good, the staff definitely spoiled my morning mood... Poorly trained in the art of F&B services... Spoiled my bright and sunny day with a gloomy and cloudy face. Manners towards customers are definitely a put off compared to the black and aromatic cup of coffee. Please do train your staff to smile more and treat customers better.

We ordered Yuan Yang and Teh C. The drinks are ok and taste similar to those in hawker centers. We enjoyed the rendang chicken rice and asam fish rice. The place is decorated in the 60s or 70s style. It’s a nice place to reminisce about our younger days. Do visit the second floor when you come, it's like a mini museum.

Had breakfast in the early weekday morning (8am). Not much people at that time, quiet & nice environment. Whole place painted in red. 2nd level decorations full of old times feel. Coffee is very traditional local type, recommend to upsize for 20cents more as the normal size might not be enough for those coffee lover. Price slightly higher (kaya toast set w/half boil eggs) compare to those popular coffee house. But still worth it for that kind of ambience.

Can feel the owner’s passion for Nanyang culture based on the thoughtful displays in the museum. The Hot Coffee, Toast and Egg Set was great, except that the eggs got this 臭蛋味 (unfresh smell). The Chee Cheong Fun was OK. Prices were reasonable. Highly recommended for anyone who loves to learn more about our local history or to reminisce about the good old days, whether you are a kid or elderly, local or tourist.

Located at 268 South Bridge Rd, Singapore 058817. Few minutes walk from Chinatown Station. Always like this place as it brings back many fond memories. Have been to this place many times. Wrote a review this time and hope the Owner will increase salary for all the staffs for working so hard and maintaining the standards of traditional breakfast set and friendly services. I always took pictures of the counter staffs for them to send their pictures home to show their families and also as a form of helping them to keep their memories while working in Chinatown, Singapore ??? The hidden gem is on the 2nd level. Don’t miss it when you are there!

Located along South Bridge Road. This unique outlet was one of the best place to enjoy a cup of tea with traditional Singapore breakfast. Ample seating spaces. You could sit outside to enjoy the natural air and sun. Or to sit indoor to enjoy the cold air. And the best was the option to go to the second level. The second level housed the museum. It was a good experience to view the museum. A lot of traditional stuffs from my childhood, such as chicken bowl, old cashier machine. For the food, a wide range of food, other than the kaya toast, there were other food, nasi lemak, and their unique sesame toast. A great selection of food, not suitable for those who wanted to lose weight. And having your breakfast brought the whole feeling of comfort and enjoyment to the next level! Strongly recommended to go for your breakfast. But please do not go too frequently, because I still prefer this location not to be too crowded. Thanks.
