National Junior College is a place of higher education, one of the best JC institutions in Singapore. NJC has a very long history going back all the way to when Singapore first became independent. NJ's outstanding and committed teachers provides students with the best pre-university education that top students deserve. Hence, only outstanding students with great O Level results will be able to get into this school.

Was an ex student there 22 years ago, still remember clearly the happy and fun days I had there. The teachers were dedicated, caring and enjoy making jokes, which makes lessons much more enjoyable! Agree with some people that the school has a quiet and dignified charm about it, hope it maintains for years to come. Always proud to tell people I graduated from the oldest JC in sg! Didn't enjoy the long stairs I had to climb for 2 years though

In terms of the JC stream, NJ is one of the top-ranked JCs in Singapore. Their Research and Leadership department both have a good reputation. Most of the teachers are generally well versed and pleasant in their teachings, particularly the math and sciences department. The canteen food is also great in terms of quality and price. That said, it does have several flaws which are not mentioned by previous reviews. For one, the management of the school compound is below average as there are rarely any upgrades or renovations done around the school, especially for the lecture theaters and classrooms (once the ceiling at one of the LTs leaked rainwater). The selection of CCAs outside of sports/performing arts is also limited so you may wish to look into their CCA list before enrolling. And while there have been efforts to bring both JAE and IP students together in recent years, there is still a fair disparity between the two groups. Along with the inherent studying/mugging culture and lack of school events in general (Class of 2017 didn't even have a prom night!) , there isn't much camaraderie throughout different classes/levels. Overall if your main concern is scoring well for A Levels and building up a decent portfolio, NJ is the place for you. But if you care more about the non-academic experience in JC, in terms of campus life and making lasting friends throughout your cohort, you may wish to reconsider. (Edit: Also Fair warning, their PW department/distinction rates aren't the best, though it has improved abit last year from what I've heard)

One of the best schools in Singapore (No, I’m not exaggerating). The pastoral care in this school is seriously excellent. Students achieve the best possible academic results and there are different additional classes (Advanced Inquiry in Maths, Science Research Programmes with prestigious universities, charity works, interesting Thinking subject, AEP and many more!) to stretch their potential. Sure, the teachers are hard on the students at times but they know their limits and will stay by your side till the end. The principal is really kind and makes effort to know each and every student in the college (At least 2000 students). The school canteen food is immaculate and you have various stalls to choose from. This school is so all-rounded in terms of academic and behaviour. NJCians will always be the students to donate money and buy packets of tissues from street sellers. They are also very humble despite being intelligent. Well, the school have some flaws though. This includes the school structure. The school has old facilities and many flights of stairs. However, if you are looking for a school to help you ace your A-Levels, this school is just for you. Most NJ students move on to prestigious universities such as NUS and Oxford University. The alumni in this school is very strong as they help to tutor the students there and aid them in choosing a university. The students, teachers and principal in NJ have an excellent sense of humour and will never fail to make you laugh. Calling out to all BTS’ ARMYs, the students in the school all admire BTS for their message and the teachers use BTS as a role model for the students. Although you will get punished for your actions, such as bullying, the year heads will always protect you. About the Student Council, perhaps they are the reason behind the school fun and vibrant environment. The school events never disappoint thanks to the councillors. True to their motto, service with honour, this school is truly the best school in Singapore in terms of both academics, behaviour and pastoral care.

I were were working as a security officer for their PRE-U Seminar. I really enjoyed with the environment and the teachers although I am a security officer only. They really touched me with their politeness and helping out. The food catered were excellent. I really enjoyed my brief work with them.
