Food here is so wallet-friendly. Where else in Singapore can you get a bowl of lor mee for $2.50 and beef biryani for $3.50? To put in perspective, the bowl of lor mee would have easily cost $4 to $5 elsewhere and the beef biryani $5 at least. So you guys work out the sums. My favourite beef horfan store seemed to have closed. It was there 15 years ago though.

The noodles stall is the best! Affordable and nice.

Recommend seafood Pao Fan, much cheaper than Canteen A.

Must try this noodle shop. $2.50 or $3.30. Prepare for long queue if 12pm!

They serve a variety of food. Prices are relatively cheaper compared to other typical food courts around NTU. For comparison, fruit juices are $1.50 and meepok is around $3.00. Crowd dies down after 1pm. Open concept with cool wind.

Cheap and Good food Prawn Mee(L)($3.30) Generous amount of prawn, vege and fishcake. Savoury prawny soup. Nasi Padang($5.10) Sedap meal. Looks spicy but is not. Basmatic Rice, Sambal Goreng Tahu Tempe, Stir Fry Kambing, Sambal Long Bean, acar timun. Mala Maggi goreng dry pot($12.30) Fragrance, tasty and savoury sweet with spiciness level at low but like no spicy like that. Eating with friends who can't handle spicy well. Numbness can't taste much either. Overall, its a tastisfying bowl of Mala pot. Price is quite reasonable too. Option were many too. Nice. Bak Chor Mee($2.50(S)/$3.30(L)) Not only the Price is cheap, the noodles were great too. Savoury springy noodles with the right amount of vinegary taste, topped with soft & juicy mushroom and a load of meaty minced meat. Get the large bowl for extra ingredients.? Chicken Chop($3.80) with Spaghetti($4.80) When you on budget but want to eat western too. All you need is $5 and can fill your stomach full.? Standard chicken chop with the meat on the tougher & dryer side with slightly char skin, covered with the black pepper sauce, it makes it quite decent. Comes with pre-mix mashed potato(I guess) and garden green salad. As for spaghetti, its al dente and drenched with a choice of sauce from two option, which are Chicken Bolognese - Tomato based with strong herb taste & minced chicken. Surprisely nice. Cream of Mushroom - Your safe option.? Grilled fish with Spaghetti($5) Soft tender silky fish with lightly grilled skin, flood with sauce of your choice, comes with garden salad.

The bak chor mee stall sells bak chor mee, lor mee, fish ball noodles and prawn noodles. The queue will be long at peak hours (1130-1pm). If you visited the stall quite often, the uncle will remember what you like to order. The uncle is nice but sometimes he will be bad tempered when the queue is too long. To facilitate the order, and make the order flexible, you can tell uncle these: 1. small portion, or big potion (add noodles and/or ingredients, can specify what ingredient to add also). The more you add the higher the price but very worth. 2. Type of noodles: mee pok, mee kia, mi fen, huang mian, lao shu fen, cu mi fen (can point if you are not sure the name) 3. Spicy or not spciy 4. Hidden menu: dried version or wet version. During sem break, the bak chua mee may change to other type of food like fried kway teow, hokkien mee and wa tan hor, with minumum $4. PS: no more wa tan hor, but fried kuey teow and hokkien mee are available during school semester, and you don’t need to join the queue for them

Rare find here in NIE canteen. Cannot find the place initially and after I asked the stall holders here I realised that carpark 3 is the nearest carpark to this place. Today tried the prawn noodles, the soup is thick and flavourful with loads of ingredients. It's a MUST TRY here!!!
