O'Kee Fishball Noodle 乌记鱼圆面 - 221B Boon Lay Pl

A very decent bowl of fish ball noodles dished out by an old couple. There is always a fairly long queue attesting to their popularity. On balance however, I find that the version at Hai Chua still has a slight edge.

Chance upon this stall the last time i was here. They were already closed for the day that time. Decided to try my luck by coming at a much earlier timing. Upon reaching, i was greeted by a long queue. The queue moved pretty slow, which is understandable. This stall is helmed by a elderly couple. Noodle prices starts from SGD$4 onwards. Ordered the meepok dry. Noodle was slightly overcooked, texture of the noodle was quite soft. The sauce here is pretty simple, just the chili sauce and lard oil. The chili sauce was fantastic, its has that 古早味. The bowl of noodle came with 2 types of fishball, fishcake slices and minced meat. Fishball is definitely homemade and loves the fishcake. Would highly reconmend if you are a fishball noodle lover. They closed pretty early, therefore do come early if you want to try.

Love the teochew type of making the noodles. The old couple (abt 70 plus years old) assisted by their daughter have made a name for themselves in this Boon Lay Hawker Centre. I never fail to see long row of queue every morning just to savor the taste of the noodles which gives the nostalgic feel of fishball noodles tradition. I will drive down from my place few days per week jus to eat this. The soup is a must try, clear yet tasty with the natural fish goodness!!!
