★ ★ ★ ★ ★ シャンゼリゼ通り、5番街、銀座など世界中に知れ渡っている通りがありますが、ここシンガポールにも、世界中の観光客が集まるストリート、オーチャードロードがあります。元々は英国植民地時代にあったナツメグや胡椒、そして果樹の栽培をしているところから、オーチャード（果樹園）から名付けられたと言われています。
オーチャードロードの全長は約2.2㎞。そこには世界各国のブランド店が軒を連ね、さらに日本の高島屋、伊勢丹、そしてユニクロなども存在感を出しています。さらに数多くのショッピングモールがあり、東南アジア随一の繁華街といってよいでしょう。
このオーチャードロードでは、季節毎にさまざまなデコレーションを見ることができます。中でも、クリスマスの時期のイルミネーションは、一見の価値があります。1984年から開始され、1991年からはHITACHI ASIAが、メインスポンサーとしてこのクリスマスイルミネーションに参画しています。毎年、このイルミネーションにはテーマがあります。
この時期、無数のライトとモニュメントによって、元々華やかなオーチャードロードがさらに彩り豊かになり、地元のシンガポール人のみならず、多くの観光客もこの通りにやってきて、写真撮影を楽しんでいます。

The total length of Orchard Road is about 2.2 km. There are brand stores from around the world, and Takashimaya, Isetan, and Uniqlo in Japan also have a presence. There are also many shopping malls, making it one of the best shopping centers in Southeast Asia.
On Orchard Road, you can see a variety of decorations every season. In particular, Christmas illuminations are worth a look. Started in 1984, since 1991 HITACHI ASIA has been participating in this Christmas illumination as the main sponsor. Every year, this illumination has a theme.
During this time, countless lights and monuments have made the ornate Road, originally colorful, more colorful, and not only local Singaporeans but also many tourists have come to this street to enjoy photography.
