Preschool for Multiple Intelligences (PMI) @ Newton - 37 Newton Rd

Great school and great teachers! Very conducive environment for our toddlers to learn and grow.

Over the past 9 years, I have progressively enrolled my 3 children into PMI and they have grown and developed well under the patient and kind guidance of the teachers there. There is an effective bilingual programme in place and I have personally witnessed not just my children's bilingualism but also that of their expat classmates. The nature and art enrichment programmes are particularly amazing and I am thankful to Uncle Andrew for instilling a love for local wildlife and Ms Dipa for always encouraging their creative juices to freely flow. The outdoor area (front porch and backyard) doubles up as a luscious greenery patch as well as a play area - other than the usual tricycles and sand pit there are often ongoing projects like planting of flowering bushes to attract butterflies, and edible greens being grown. The indoor area (classrooms and corridors) is a delightful and colourful mish mash of teachers' handmade wall and ceiling decorations interspersed with students' artwork displays. But hardware aside, it's the software that ultimately counts - PMI is run by an experienced and passionate educator Dr Khoo Kim Choo and her dedicated team of principals and teachers who pull out all the stops to provide their charges with a fun and loving environment to play, learn and grow.

Last three years the school at PMI Newton had three different principals. When a principal leaves teachers tend to leave as well, that disturbs the kids immensely, as they have to get used to new people and settle again. Organisationally there's room for improvement. If you like the idea of child care there are better options out there - Pat's being one of them.
