Very good laksa that is slightly different. Not too rich in terms of coconut milk. Right balance. Seems to be closed on Wednesday

A traditional local laksa dish served by this elderly uncle at the Mayflower Market & Food Centre for many years. For those who are craving for laksa, now is the time to try it out...for I do not know when this uncle’s going to retire? Unlike the Katong or Sungei road laksa that are Nyonya-style with more diluted gravy and mild sourness, this one was more Teochew-style with thicker gravy.

This stall is no longer selling laksa as the previous owner has retired. Instead, the new stall owners are now selling pork/chicken chop rice, some snacks such as spring rolls etc. I visited place on a Sunday afternoon, and chanced upon this stall with a short queue. Ordered a specialty pork chop rice ($5), which comes with a huge portion of pork chop, sliced cucumber and carrot, a serving of steamed egg, a plate of Thai chili, as well as a small bowl of soup. Added another piece of sunny side up ($0.80) to complete my meal. The pork chop is marinated well, pairing it with the Thai chili reminds me of the pork belly one will order when eating Mookata. However, the meat is a little tough. If you are alright with a bit of toughness in the meat, this pork chop is definitely flavourful. The steamed egg consists of minced pork, a bit of rice vermicelli, and another ingredient that I can't seem to figure it out (my apologies!). The egg has a nice texture to it and it tastes well! The vegetables were a refreshing complement to the rather filling meal, and the soup helps to add a saltiness to the whole plate. Overall, it was a very filling and heartening meal for a decent price. They also have just the pork chop rice that comes with a sunny side up instead of the steamed egg for just $4 if you do not want to eat too full. Recommended to try if you are in the area!

The previous owner (old man) has passed down the business to the son, who married a vietnamese. Thus, the stall now sells both Laksa and Vietnamese food. Affordable and delicious. #2 Special Pork Chop Rice 4/5 #6 Fried Spring Rolls 4.5/5 #1 Pho w/ sliced chicken 5/5

Really affordable! Pho comes in great portions for 3 bucks. The fried spring rolls are a delight! Had the pork chop special which also came in huge portions and was really tasty. Additionally the store owners are always super friendly! My go to store in mayflower hawker

The uncle is still cooking and selling his Laksa! Been eating his Laksa since my Primary school days! Glad he still still going strong! He used to sell it with his wife and a son around 20-25 years back. When visited him this morning, a lady is assisting him to collect payment and orders. Believed to be a Vietnamese. Quite polite. Ordered 1 x large Laksa and requested to pay more for cockles. Surprisingly, they do not allow additional of cockles. The Laksa is still good and brought back many memories. Thank you

Nostalgic taste from childhood days. Good value with the pork chop and laksa, but the laksa seem to have lost its edge. Will be back again to give it a 2nd chance!
