Situated at Boat Quay, Sahara is a Bar cum restaurant serving Turkish cuisine. Because of alcohol they can't be certified Halal but they claim their suppliers are all Halal. Location wise, it's a beautiful location specially in the evening when it cools down. Facing the Singapore river, outside dining area is pretty picturesque. We visited for lunch and ordered Regular Mix grill, Fish kebab, Humus and Cafe Latte. Mix grill had Lamb chops(2), lamb sheesh kebab(1), chicken sheesh kebab (1), Adna kebab (1), Chicken tikka (2 pieces) along with bread and their special sauce. Quantity was sufficient for two. Kebabs were reheated and not freshly made. Fish kebab came with rice and a little salad. Taste wise Fish kebab was fine. Humus also came with bread. Humus didn't give strong fresh feel and we could feel it was refrigerated. Consistency was thick and bread was quite soft. Latte was too bitter so we will give it a pass. Overall food was OK but not great. Maybe when they have more customers in evening they prepare fresh food. Service was fine as we were the only customer at that time. Overall after 30% discount from eatigo it costed us SGD 70 inclusive of GST and Service Charge. I would rate this place Okay for one time but there are better Turkish options In this price range.

Food not bad despite my bf had to wait for about 45min for his lamb which apparently the order has been left out (We didn’t blame the waiter because apparently he was the only one there) Furthermore, it was chill and relax sitting by the river. We had a lovely evening there.

Came on a Friday night, unfortunately it was raining so we sat indoors, instead of by the river. My friend enjoyed the excellent service of a lady staff even though she was an hour early and just had water while waiting for us. We had the Meze Platter ($26.90) which offered 5 different dips (I particularly liked the tomato-based ones) with freshly baked balloon bread, that my friends enjoyed so much they ordered a second for $5. The Burek with beef ($25) recommended by the staff was a surprise hit with all of us. Fish Kebab ($25) came with refreshing salad. Butter rice was kind of bland so I ate it with the Hummus from our appetiser and it went well. What was disappointing was that the smoke from the customers who were seated right outside the small air-conditioned area. We ended up with itchy throats bearing with the smoke while we finished us our dessert. The atmosphere built up after 9pm with music which some of the other customers hanging around outside sang to.

Order the dips platter so you get to try different types of dips as it was all very good. The bread that comes with the dip was light and different from the usual naan.

Nice place in the heart of boat quay. Staff is super friendly and service is fast. The view is fantastic overlooking the quay. The place is smoker's Friendly which is a good or bad thing, depending on your nicotine preferences. Average cost for 2 is about $100, but it's totally worth the money. We ordered the grilled platter for 80++, plus a few drinks. Paid about $150 for 3 people. Must try when in boat quay.

This is probably my first Turkish restaurant experience here. I like Hummus and that prompted me to look for a restaurant to chill on a Friday evening. Decided on this among a few others. I think it’s great. Cool breeze by the river, sipping some Chardonnay and indulging in hummus, lavash bread and falafel (fried patties of chickpeas). What an enjoyment. TGIF.

Sahara Bar & Restaurant serves Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine. Indoor and outdoor seating available. We chose outdoor so that we can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Boat Quay. Ordered two dishes: Shish - chicken Boneless pieces of meat marinated with herbs and spices, skewered and grilled. Served with homemade sauce, salad and choice of rice or bread Beef fillet Succulent beef tenderloin grilled over charcoal. Served with homemade sauce, salad and choice of rice or bread. The salad is bland but it compliments the meat. Very filling meal.
