β β β β β We took our 1.5 year old son to Scissors Paper Stone at Forum. He now has bald patches on parts of his head from the razor that was used. He was clearly scared of the razor, but the hairstylist insisted that it should be used as it would be "faster". She even asked us to hold his head down so she could shave it. My son was in hysterics and is still traumatised from the experience after. It's clear that the hairdresser has not been trained to deal with toddlers despite Scissors Paper Stone advertising themselves as such. I later called Scissors Paper Stone to relay this feedback and also let them know that my son now has bald patches across his head. Jaslyn(sp?) from management called me and said that we could go to Marina Square to have it rectified within a set time period. I told her that I would prefer a refund as I don't think I would be comfortable taking my son back so soon given his trauma, and that a refund is reasonable given the bald patches caused. (I'm truly not exaggerating with the bald patches...It's bad and even she acknowledged it). She then said that if I didn't like the cut, I shouldn't have paid for it. Since I had paid, I'm not entitled to a refund. She then started to insinuate I was a bad customer - and at that point, I decided there was no point talking further. It was all poorly handled and now I have to take my toddler to another place to get his bald patches fixed once his hair has grown out a little. A traumatic experience overall.
RESPONSE TO MANAGEMENT'S COMMENT: (and last I'll say on this because...what parent has time for this??)
Dear parents, it is usual for a 1.5year old to cry, but what matters is how the hairdresser responds. This hairdresser proceeded to grab my kid's head and force the razor through. She was clearly focused on getting to the end with no regard for whether the cut would be okay or if the kid was okay. To me, this shows a lack of training and experience with toddlers. With respect to not speaking English well - we're actually Singaporean/Chinese in appearance so she could have spoken to us in Chinese. Also, the location is in Orchard, so you would expect English speaking customers? The customers before and after me were foreigners. Management's response to my message gives you an idea of how they take feedback. Instead of communicating how they would better train their staff, they've instead taken a defensive position. Also, there are BALD PATCHES - no rectification is possible until the hair has grown out. I would like to add that we had a positive experience with Soon Lee at the Marina Square outlet - management let slip that she's one of their best, which suggests, like any chain, it's person dependent and there's no consistency. I will leave it to you to decide on whether you'd go to this place. In the meantime, I've received recommendations on places that my friends' kids have enjoyed - not because the cut was amazing (at least they didn't have bald patches), but because the hairdresser exhibited patience and was kind. (As an aside, some friends have mentioned negative experiences at Scissors Paper Stone too, and those who saw my kid's bald patches were traumatised - so no, it's not just me.) Feel free to DM me if you'd like some of these recs. P.S. asking for a refund wasn't about the money (it's $26, it's not going to change my life) - it was more about the principle. You put bald patches on my kid's head...any parent would be traumatised.

β β β β β Ignoring all the strange pictures showing outdoor setting and product placements - I brought our 2.5 year old daughter for her first hair cut. The ladies knew what to do and even offered to keep her hair for souvenir. Gave her a lollipop and balloon after. It was overall a very good first hair cut experience for daughter. Most likely will comeback here for future hair cuts.

β β β β β Literally just stepped out of this outlet at Forum, and I have never been more impressed. The hairdresser is amazing at handling my 7 month old, who had never been to a hairdresser and was properly terrified the moment the shaver was turned on. She was calm and quick, while being comforting to my little one. I went on my own and she helped me with putting my baby in the carrier after that (it was almost impossible doing it on my own because he was clinging onto me after the haircut). Kudos to the team and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a haircut for the little one!

β β β β β Was there for my kiddo's first haircut despite him being over 2 years old. The hairdresser is very patient and really knows how to coax my kiddo! I was so surprised that he's so quiet and well behaved throughout the haircut. Normally he will make a huge fuss just about everything.
The haircut surprised me as well. It was not like any typical bowl hair cut (sorry parents!) out there. There was layering on my kiddo's hair, he look like how he look like when he was months old with his short hair! It's really handsome and nice looking.
Totally recommended! I was told by my wife that the hairdresser's name is Angie. Hope that we could get a roster of her work schedule so that we go at a day when she's at work!
Thank you! Will look for her again when we need a haircut!

β β β β β I would definitely recommend this childrenβs hairdresser to parents with kids.
The hairdresser was very professional in engaging my kid. My kid was a little nervous and apprehensive at the beginning, but the hairdresser was very patient and gentle and was able to cut my kidβs hair. Can tell that the hairdresser has a lot of experience in dealing with children.
Good to visit on a weekday as weekends are very busy with a long waiting queue.
