SG Enable

We were there for 'A Very Special Walk 2016 Carnival' and took the opportunity to explore the place. There are various spaces and corners in the compound to interact with others or read quietly. An NTUC with limited opening hours is also in the compound, which makes it convenient for one to grab snacks or groceries from. A few medical clinics are situated here, in line with the theme of this Enabling Village. The fitness corners are a notch up the usual fitness centres found in HDB neighbourhoods. We had fun trying the various stations at the fitness corners, as well as rocking on the "tub" in the playground. While at the fitness corner nearest the gym, we saw an elderly lady on a threadmill machine through the clear glass wall. It was heartening to see the elderly working out too. Very considerately, two water-coolers are situated at this level near the gym and fitness corners.

Well run place. Great coffee and pastries. Got Fairprice too. Very clean toilets. Super cold and clean training rooms. A great place for training and kick off campaigns.

Good place to work

Sent an email on 15 May on a enquiry on EIPIC. Had an automated reply saying will get back within 5 working days. 27 May still no replies. Called the hotline on 27 May 1230 and was attended to by a Mr Saw (did not managed to get his full name as he refused to give citing PDPA). Ask a simple question of how to enrol for EIPIC and he couldn't answer. Throughout the almost 15 minutes conversation, he stuttered and stumbled while speaking and made me wait while he "called" someone on another line to ask if that person (whose name he wouldn't say either) could respond to my email. Asked for my number (but he refuses to give his full name?!) which I also refused as I don't trust this chap who doesn't seem to understand my simple enquiry. In the end he said that someone (working from home) will get back to me after checking her email after her lunch break. The way he speaks is quite unprofessional, shocking to think he works for an organization like SG Enable, which caters to people with special needs. There was no please/thank you from him (and I said it many times over the conversation). Obviously not much empathy on his part. Wasted 15 mins of my talktime with this chap.

Very helpful staff in helping disabled people to look for job. I brought a friend with some health problems to see if they can help her to find a job. The staff very patiently explained why they were unable to help. Thank you for the good service although my friend did not managed to get a job.

Very rude staff name Angie, telling lies and twisting her word. And slammed phone before conversation. Even trying to work out the work flow to get pro actives lives to be productive also got blocks. My phone call is being held for more den 1 hour with video taken as evident. Why such ppl exist if you not prepared to serve. I wonder how such government organisation existed to go through motion and hiring such staff as CS. Phone was put on hold for more den 1 hours not picking it up leaving it to IVR voice recording going in cycle. Government high management do take note hiring such poor attitude staffs.

Yet to go there but soon I hope to hear from SG Enable in regards to me looking forward to receiving help to secure part time work. They promptly responded to my queries.... Impressive!
