Shun Quan Soya - 105 Hougang Ave 1

My second visit to this food centre. Was like a foreigner looking for local kopi and teh options during dinner timing. Seems like some other drink stall only have cold drinks option available. Came across Shun Quan which looks like a soya bean stall from outside but actually they do serve HOT drinks too. The auntie is really super friendly. Managed to have a cup of hot Milo in the end. Will be 5 stars if the Milo is not so watered down. Happen to come across a sign saying Almond flavored soya bean. Very delighted, started a conversation with auntie about this old school almond flavored drink that used to serve at local traditional coffee stalls. If you are old enough, you might have tried the almond flavored drink in the 70s, 80s or 90s. This drink seems to have vanished. So according to auntie, the manufacturer that produce the almond syrup has closed down hence there is no more supply to the hawker stalls. But the good news is auntie say she can sell that old school drink if we want. Will definitely go back to have that drink when I am in that area.
