Singapore American School - 40 Woodlands Street 41

I am currently enrolled at Singapore American School as a Freshmen(9th Grade) in High School and have been at the school for about 8 years now. So, I have a pretty good view of what going to the school is like. Overall SAS offers a world class education with amazing teachers who give you help when you need it. Plus, the school has amazing facilities that will blow your mind. As well as a massive campus. Therefore there is a lot to like about this school. However, there is also a little bit to dislike, for example the school food. Now, I am not saying that the school food is bad but its not good nor bad. Since, they have a wide variety of foods some of which are great such as the Chinese Food, and some are bad such as the Sushi. This is because sometimes in the sushi there is an overload of sour cream and there is minimal meat in it. Plus, the taste of the sushi isn't great. However, the caterers here are doing an amazing job with their food and service. The sushi is just one thing that isn't great along with a couple of other things. But, besides the food Singapore American School is an amazing school overall.

I can't think of a better way to receive a top tier education. Phenomenal facilities, impeccable academics, wonderful staff, and wonderful students. I'm also pretty sure I was the best volleyball player to ever attend SAS.

Absolutely delighted with the standards, quality and teaching/curriculum style of the school. Kids stay happy and productive. Love the heritage and history...

One of the "Top-Tier" foreign schools in Singapore. Expect mostly expat students here. Amenities and teachers are top notch! School fees.... ermm expect Top-Tier too! ?

I'm so happy I don't go here anymore. I only went to SAS for one year and I had the worst experience ever. The teachers gossip about students way too much, and the some of the students are toxic. The only good thing is that the education is good and it's safe. But It's still a very stressful and toxic environment.

As a delivery personnel, security clearance is a hassle, the guards do not practice a common SOP and visitors were not properly informed of any pre-requisites that were needed for registration. They will request you to park further up and come back to the guard house; only to tell you that they need to see your physical ID for visitors registration. This is time wasting and inefficient. They do not seem to accept SingPass mobile app as a form of identification, although we commonly use it to deliver items to Government offices like CPF or IRAS. A person's SingPass ID can only be viewed by authenticating security via PIN code or biometric(common in smartphones nowadays). They are unwilling to offer any assistance to escort or give directions, often referring you to call the parcel recipient. In fact, you will face some subtle prejudice as they asked you suspiciously why you would need to go into the premises(for delivery?). This leads to delays which is anything from 10 to 20 minutes. Most of the parcel recipients are teaching staff, so we understand that it will be disruptive for us to call them over a petty delivery. Another colleague have a different experience though. The security guards just registered his name, accepted and delivered the parcel on behalf of the recipient. On top of it, delivery person(s) cannot lose their cool or vent their frustrations out. You will be barred from entering and risked having a police report filed against you. That just happened recently, to another colleague. I hope that the premises Operations Manager review again their security protocols and practices. Take care, stay safe.

The school has amazing facilities and dedicated teachers. Unfortunately, the spoiled kids of super rich parents, who are allowed to bully other kids, and the insane competition for attention between kids, make the experience for children of parents with average financial means very disappointing and even distressing.

Graduated class of 1997. Wonderful school with faculty that cares about the future of students and help offer a global perspective. SAS was the best thing that ever happened to me :)
