This shop was quite hyped up by olde school food bloggers. Plenty of support from local residents and they buy in bulk. Can see them ordering 5-6 portions each. Be prepared for a long que and in that time you can observe the speed and skills of the stall owner! Kudos to her at her age! However I was slightly disappointed as the food quality did not live up to the hype and the que. the chicken was flavourful but the glutinous rice was unevenly cooked & flavoured. The Siew Mai was average too. I like that it’s chock full of meat and very little fillers but the lean cut of meat made the dumplings tough to chew.

Went this morning at round 7am. Queued for almost 2hours. The Lou Mai gai is not as fantastic as what others reviewed. The siew Mai tasted average. Overall, not worth the time for the taste.

Not a fan of their Lo Mai Gai. But 5 stars to their Siew May. Siew May is bigger than average and for taste-wise I would say really got the standard. Kudos to the lady who operate this stall all by herself.

Delicious. Well balanced taste. Only has siew mai & lo mai gai (Chicken glutinous rice) in the menu, no bao ?. There was always a queue whenever I visit the hawker centre. I usually pack home and heat them up before eating, super-duper good

Ordered one lor mai gai and one siew mai. Expectation was high because the stall always has a long queue and sold out by late morning. The lor mai gai has very juicy mushrooms but the meat and rice were plain ordinary. The siew mai was big with lots of meat wrapped in very thin skin. The stall owner was very courteous and friendly despite the stall popularity. Overall, the lor mai gai and siew mai were slightly above average and did not meet expectation.

Aunty scored on her jolly good courteous attitude! Despite long snake queue she is manning the store by herself. Sell out by 10-11am fast moving customers buy by the bundle. Honestly, it’s cheap $2 for LMK n 70cents for Siao Mai each. 2 stars for Overrated Quality is so so perhaps she cut back on the seasonings for both items. If u like Lmk you need to try it at Swee Choon or red star!

I m home from the other city. Am home from home for loved ones, friends, and great people in this FB family… And... I’m home for Singapore Bao (due to jet lag, I m wide awake at 5 am to slow jog from Lavender to Bendemeer FC n eat 2 sets of SG Bao). It’s one of the first hawker foods I eat after being away for few weeks. I m drenched in pure happiness and perspiration. Stall #01-61 at Bendemeer FC (opens daily from 7 am till sold out). NO regrets. SG Bao’s sets may not be the best. But, hawker food is also about convenience, ease, old-school tastes, morning breakfast queues ? and the friendly faces behind the stalls. I’m home for hawker food. ♥️

I live nearby, and always see that this stall has a snaking queue and the stall sells out before 10 usually. I had intentionally gone out early just to see what the fuss was about. I was taken aback that a stall called Singapore Bao ONLY had 2 items on its menu, and no Paos were available. Not sure when this revision to the menu was made and how long this would be for. As there was only Siew Mai and Lor Mai Kai, I ordered both to try. The Lor Mai Kai was so bad =(. The glutinous rice was not fluffy, bearing an under-steamed texture. The mushroom, chicken and rice were all under-seasoned. The ones you get from a local commercialized coffee shop, which are MASS produced and come in a plastic container, tastes way better. The Siew Mai was a notch better. It was a nice mouthful as it was a giant siew mai. Taste was, it was rather average. I would not mind eating it again. I am only giving it 2 stars because of: 1. Mismatch in expectation from the extremely long queue vs the quality of product. 2. Lack of variety. And the only 2 items were mediocre. Qualifying statement: I have NOT tried it for the second time so I am not able to provide a new rating to rule out a single bad experience.
