Went to Snip avenue for a simple haircut and witnessed one if the most heartbreaking and frustrating situations. This aunty came in and asked in english for a wash, cut, blow and straighten of her hair. She also said she brought her own straightener. The shop's hairstylists were all chinese and firstly, started panicking- not sure if they couldn't speak English or what but they started pushing each other verbally and out loud to get the next person to attend to her. Next they started saying it was not possible, they didn't know who she was, and like her straightener was very dirty who would want to use it? I was rather taken aback witnessing this all out loud in spoken mandarin + whatever cantonese I could grasp. Meanwhile the poor lady was just asking for the service to be done with NOBODY attending and addressing her. I didn't understand why she couldn't get her hair straightened at a hair salon and even if they had their own industrial hair appliances/ rebounding service and not straightening service they could very well tell her that. The hairstylists continued on to ignore her and cook up a common excuse of ' Boss say not available', 'your hair so curly how can't of which the aunty seemed rather saddened to say: where got curly- I mean we all love our own hair and why isn't she entitled to hair straightening services at a hair salon. Eventually the price reported to her for the services from $21.80 to 'eh no $28.80' 'why so expensive?:( If $21.80 I can do'-the aunty was v sad Again a colluded response: aiya price increase, you still want? Followed by a side comment, aiyo why she still not going I sincerely felt devastated and I failed to see what was so wrong with the aunty's request. Asking for rather normal hair services at a hair salon was PERFECTLY normal. Why was such horrible services provided and such rather quoting of prices?! How could they speak with conscience... I wondered if I shld have volunteered to translate or help the aunty. I left the shop while the situation was ongoing with a terrible heartache. Deep down, I wonder is this truly the racism SG still has bcos that poor aunty was Indian? I'm really sorry aunty for what happened to you.

Good price yet worst service, priority given to other service that is worth more, only haircut will give you the lowest priority, especially when you sign for membership, you're gonna stuck with them for 12 session. Think 10 times before signing the member, after membership will be different treatment. Just a normal hair cut need to wait 1 hour plus, even surf net on phone cause my battery to drop to 32% from 100%

literally the worst haircut ive ever had in my entire life. apparently being a hairstylist just mean that you know how to press the on button for the shaver. but the cut was $4.80 so i guess you get what you pay for...

Says close at 2030, last customer at 2015. Was there at 2009 but they insisted they are closed rudely. Went there a few times. Price is great. Service varries from ok to poor. Avoid peak hour for best waiting time. I'd rather pay ยข20 more for a shorter queue and better service...just a 3 min walk and you'll find another barber.

[Please note before you intend to queue for a haircut.] The system at Snip Avenue is flawed. It is not a respecter of walk-in customers. About a month ago, I queued up after 2 other walk-in customers and waited outside the hairdresser. It was full inside with all the service staff serving a customer each. I patiently waited for my turn but started to see others who had not been in the queue suddenly scan their TraceTogether tokens and get seats immediately. One of these customers proudly told me he has a longstanding regular customer basis with one of the staff and had made an appointment prior to his visit. The couple queuing behind me who had waited about an hour (I waited around 1.5h) called the management insisting for a cut as they had previously bought the prepaid card for 12 sessions. Imagine being beholden to such a system! While the cut is cheap, the system is cheap too. The admin staff makes no effort to explain to walk-in customers the reason for their long waiting. After all, she is always on her phone. They respect neither the prepaid card holder nor the walk-in customer. In their defence, the only pleasant time I ever had in this particular Snip Avenue was when I visited just before closing hours and caught a quick haircut for my child and me. The management needs to address some of the angry reviews here. For a much better experience, at about double the price, head over to Eden nearby. The friendlier ladies there would probably do a better job.

Apart from the long average waiting time 40mins on weekdays and 70mins on weekends, a good place for quick and 'professional' haircut. Stopped buying their prepaid cards as I usually go other nearby $5 or $8 salons when queues are long or stopped moving when hairdressers were occupied with customers doing perm color treatment. Sometimes can be hard selling, some hairdressers didn't ask if I wanted his/her advice and keep asking me to try buy products or other treatments.

Please come here during off-peak hours to avoid the long queue! This year (2022) the price for member card is $48 for 10+2 cuts, still very affordable for simple haircuts!
