Tried the samsui ginger chicken, lotus root soup (traditional soup of the day), ah gong potato leaves (spicy, ah ma is not spicy). Soup is flavourful, exceeded expectations, lotus root and meat in soup are well broiled. Ah gong potato leaves has high tze char standard. Samsui chicken is signture dish, ginger sauce is easy on the tastebuds, ginger is not too strong. Acceptable for people who do not like ginger (me!). Have cucumbers and lettuce on the side to make wraps. Chicken is tasteless by itself. Overall, worth a try, good dinner place if you like Chinese food and if you dont want to eat typical tze char food. Will come back for the soup.

Know times are hard so decided to show support but this is not worth the 15 dollars I paid The egg fried rice has no egg, lacks flavor The soup is not at their usual standard too. Standard declined that much during covid. Regret supporting Waste of calories

Food was served promptly, but soup took quite awhile to be served. Service was prompt and polite until my husband left the restaurant with my baby who nee to go to the washroom. One waitress quickly come up and clear the empty plates and wipe the table, not knowing her table cloth touched my baby's pacifier. Another waitress again come quickly to pick up unwanted tissues to clear. Most of the item on the table are my belonging, so she starred at the table and finding the tissue to be clear. **Excuse me, I have not finish my food, and we did not create a mess nor any spillage, why are you two so eager to clear up? ** there's a few empty table around. I did not hold up the table for too long either. Could have get a higher rating but this type of insensitive service is not my cup of tea.

We came rather early for lunch and there were plenty of empty tables. They were already opened for some time, but we were held at the entrance because the tables weren't set up with cutleries. Why can't we go in and get seated first before the cutleries come?? And the table we were at was quite squeezy for 4pax. We are slightly plus but not that plus sized. The peanuts and fried fish skin were served to us without asking if we wanted it. If we knew it was chargeable we would have rejected it (well, partly our fault since we should have asked). The CNY was extremely pricey. I wouldn't pay for this price and portion. It was also unclear how many pax can a dish serve so we had to ask. Even the staff was also unsure. There were sometimes other size options not available on the menu. Also, not all dishes had pictures for us to refer to. The fried rice was supposed to have a bit of wok hei taste. Meaning slightly burnt, but not that burnt like the one we had. It leaves a strong burnt after taste in our mouths, not very much to our liking. The only redeeming feature was that it was not that oily. Taste wise is bland to my liking, but this seems like something I can cook as well. Nothing special. The only 2 things nice in my opinion is the soup of the day, which is lotus root soup, and the samsui ginger chicken. Lotus was not that hard and just right. Staff should have helped us to serve the first round of bowl and the subsequent bowls we can manage on our own. Not trying to sound entitled but most restaurants do that, since we paid for service charge as well. Samsui ginger chicken was decent. Ginger was well grinded with too liquid or oil. Lettuce was extremely wet with water, so it makes wrapping the chicken into the lettuce challenging. Because the "juice" would drip out. Overall not that pleasant of an experience. Given the extremely overpriced food and unsatisfactory food quality. Might not visit again unless no other options left.

Pretty standard pricey food but the quality and standards probably from central kitchen. The home made tofu is very slippery and nice deep fried with shrimp. The sweet potato leaf young. The staff allowed the shrimp to be separated for vegetarian options. Good service quality and attentive staff. Ocbc has offer with extra five dollars off. I think Citibank has other promotion

Food was served relatively quickly - was pleasantly surprised. Staff service was very attentive and friendly too. Had expected much more from the soup (it's in the name), but it was still satisfactory. Not very overpriced, when compared to bigger restaurants in town. Having said that, it's not very value for money either - rice itself is $2. Will frequent again if have strong cravings for some Cantonese cuisine and in the area
