South African Airways - #13-01 South African Airways

We booked a so-called SAA flight which was apparently operated via Mango Airlines (of course we didn’t know what that meant at the time as we live overseas and was trying to get back to Durban ASAP as mom who had been on holiday with us took Ill and needed to get back to be hospitalised again ( after 2 weeks in Singapore General Hospital ). Unable to get a direct transit to Durban, we had to book two seperate tickets. Not enough that flights were so full and we were also unable to get business class for her, when we called the airline to help increase her luggage allowance - saying that the customer service was of no help is an understatement. SAA sent us to Mango and Mango threw the rule book at us and asked us to go back to SAA. Seriously???? Can you not help a widowed pensioner???? How Low can such a reputable airline like SAA go??? Absolutely disgusting!!! Needless to say - it will be a very very Long time before we give Mango operated airlines business again!!! Extremely disappointed with the lack of service and staff etiquette!!!

It's really hard to believe that a full fledged airline such as SAA would be harsh in serving out fare changes to passengers who had obviously made an honest mistake.

South African Airways is the worst! My luggage was completely damaged on a flight from Johannesburg Airport to Victoria Falls Airport on 16/7/18. The lock and the zippers were forcibly torn off resulting in an unsealable luggage. A report was made at the airport and on return back to Singapore, I submitted the claim forms for my luggage compensation. Not only were my emails ignored, they now refuse to compensate for my luggage replacement. I have all the time stamps of the emails sent out to SAA. Horrible horrible service.
