★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This sculpture stands in tribute to the people who lived in the area in the early 20th century. The scene portrayed is a reminder of the memory of the difficult conditions in which people lived there at the time. The sculpture depicts a scene when the labourers had finished their hard days work and gathered together to eat their meal and socialise. It’s pretty obvious from the simple fare laid on the ground just what kind of frugal lives these people would’ve had to endure.
