β β β β β I joined SFMS in 2017. Over the years, I have become more confident with my teachers and friendsβ support and encouragement. In 2019, I was appointed an ExCo member of the Student Council, holding the position of Head of Discipline. For this yearβs Teacherβs Day celebration, organised by the Student Council, I was placed in charge of preparing gifts for all the teachers. It was my first time leading a team. From the initial discussion on suitable gifts to the gift presentation on the actual day, Iβve learnt to distribute responsibilities to my teammates in an organised and fair manner, provide guidance to them, and mitigate issues. In the end, we performed a great job together. This is one of the several valuable experiences at SFMS that I treasure.

β β β β β Iβm taking the international baccalaureate diploma programme at SFMS. This is a new course offered by my school in 2020. I am in the IBDPβs pioneer class. After studying the IB course for more than a year, I realised that IB focuses on the simultaneous improvement in academic, thinking and social responsibility, not just on learning alone. I wrote academic reports and essays for the first time, which I thought were difficult to complete. But with the help of my IB teachers, my professional ability and English language have greatly improved. In addition, the school pays great attention to our mental health. I can often feel the care and encouragement of the teachers. This makes my busy high school life warm and relaxed.

β β β β β St Francis Methodist School has provided me with a place to grow academically.
I vividly remember when I first joined the school in early 2018, I kept getting a borderline grade for English due to a weak foundation. However, after many consultations and encouragement from my English Language teachers, my grades improved by leaps and bounds at the end of the year, and I attained an "A" for my English. I feel more comfortable conversing in English now since I have become more fluent in the language.

β β β β β Being a St Francian is the best decision I have ever made! St Francis provides a pleasant environment that enables all St Francians to grow and develop various skills. The school gave us countless opportunities to be a good follower as well as a good leader. The diversity of students allowed me to have more connections, learn each other's culture, and be more open-minded. Our Teachers are very experienced and so generous. They are here not only to teach us what is in the books, but also to teach us how to be mindful of others and think out of the box. Lastly, SFMS is not just a school, a community, or a group of people. We are Family.

β β β β β I came to SFMS in 2016, and it was also the year I joined the Student Council. I was a person who did not have the confidence to talk in front of a crowd and I doubted my leadership skills. With my teacher and friendsβ endless support, I felt more comfortable and became more active in the student council. I was appointed president of the student council in my fifth year. I am glad to have found a place where I can be comfortable in, and I want to thank the school for giving me the opportunity and guiding me on how to be a good leader.
