Writing this, mere hours after wrapping up our party, I can honestly say that the express video highlights stole the show. We are so happy with the quality and the editing of the video. Our guests are so impressed, and it made them feel like they are part of the journey for the whole day. From the start, the whole team made us feel comfortable and we felt like we are in the right hands. We loved engaging with the team and especially Founder Director Yang. We welcomed his inputs in planning the shots and he is always quick and fun to chat in the weeks before our big day. On the day itself, even though it was our first time meeting face to face, Yang went out of the way to get us some genuine laughter. From making jokes to make us play some games, we really appreciated all his efforts and professionalism. But most of all, we are so impressed with the magic that he pulled within a few hours to create the express highlights. Being a COVID wedding, we realized that there must be a lot of challenging shots - from Zoom tea ceremony to limitation in the church. However, Yang managed to create magic out of those contents and impressed all of us. We were still raving about it during our morning-after breakfast and our overseas guests are equally amazed by 'our little movie'. We can't wait for the full video and we are sure that it will be amazing. For those of you searching for videographers, look no further. Substance is the best.

It's been 3 months since our wedding but each time we re-watch our wedding highlights, our heart still skip a beat! I have been an avid follower of SubstanceFilms for years after coming across one of their work and i always knew that I would want my wedding moments to be filmed by them. Engaging Yang and having PJ and Soon to film our special day was our best decision needless to say. They were so comfortable to work with. Beaming with smiles (though they have their masks on) and very entertaining the moment i met them. Imagine the excitement and positive vibes they offered. We were busy behaving ourselves while they captured many moments from many angles without us feeling a tad bothered. Most times, if not for creative films, we almost didnt know where they were. We left Yang to take total decision for our film style and music. He did not disappoint. He definitely knew his work. The video was creative, camera movement were on point and most importantly, it garnered so many praises when played during our banquet. We chose the best, trusted the best, got the best!

Well, how should I start my story with SubstanceFilms. I still remember I watched their video in my early 20s which is around six years ago and the first time I chance upon their videos on Instagram I was so impressed by the quality and aesthetic of the video, that I told myself if one day I'm getting married there's no one else to shoot for my wedding then Yang. Fast forward to today, Substance Films was one of the first vendors that I insisted to have (my husband planned that entire wedding, so he picked everything else). Throughout the preparation there was so many recommendations of different videographers to us, but I didn't change my mind to insisted to engage them and it turned out to be the best decision. My morning highlight was not the easiest to shoot because we already have our solemnization a month ago and my husband and I decided not to have any Gatecrash or any form of games. Since my parents were based overseas, they couldn't join the wedding because of covid, and my husband has a relatively small family so our only activity in the morning was the tea ceremony to his parents and having a husband being the most least expressive. After discussing with Yang, I felt so bad for the lack of content and activities but never once young use it as an excuse and he keep assuring me that everything will turn out to be OK. He did not let me down, although the entire video was shoot in our hotel room and hotel lobby (Four seasons hotel) it was so good. My husband and I loved the video so much that we watched more than 20 times after the entire wedding. Thank you for making my dream comes true and it was such a perfect video there's no regret at all. Thank you, Yang, from the bottom of my heart and your wife for being the best editor.

As a videographer myself, I have seen the power of videos in capturing moments/emotions that would otherwise be difficult to remember or get in photographs. Hence, I knew we had to invest in a good wedding videographer to capture our special day. Working in the media industry, I had high standards on how my wedding video should be filmed and edited. After looking through many different vendors, getting Yang from Substance Films was an obvious choice (in fact, they were the very first vendor we engaged, even before we settled on a wedding date/venue!). They were the best in the market and even did commercial works! :) Their cinematography, coupled with top notch editing, could turn a simple wedding affair into something so dreamy, romantic and elegant. As our wedding date drew near, Yang reached out to us to discuss our wedding programme. During that time, working with Yang really reinforced our decision to engage him. He was always so enthusiastic and friendly, even giving us practical tips/ideas for wedding planning. On the wedding day, Yang and Soon were such a joy to work with. Even though my dog was in the hotel room and kept barking at them, they never complained or flinched and instead, were hard at work capturing important moments. Throughout the shoot, Yang made my husband and I feel at ease while cleverly directing us to be in glam poses. Throughout the wedding, they were always ready to capture every single moment (even more ready than us!) and they did it so smoothly without distracting us at all. The SDE video that they produced exceeded our expectations, weaving our vows and important moments together so seamlessly. I cried and stuttered a lot during my vows, so I was worried that it might ruin the footage or make it unusable. But their skilful editing manage to make everything work out perfectly. A big thank you to Yang, Soon and Nancy for helping to capture precious moments from our big day! Engaging Substance was the easiest and best decision we made for our wedding and we would recommend it to all couples in a heartbeat.

You wouldn't really think about it beforehand, but you will have an entourage accompanying you and your only one on your big day. Maybe a make-up artist. Maybe a photographer and videographers to capture the many moments. Looking back, there's really no one I would rather have other than Yang and Substance Film team in my entourage on my big day. Yang was professional and reassuring when he was about with his work. Yang was very charming, full of laughter and humour and very, very good with the aunties when he was getting the families lined up for the shots and the angles. Yang was very patient and kind with my wife and me and, as far as I can see, to everyone else he met. And Yang and his team was everywhere on my big day! Most of all, Yang's end product is flawless to my eyes. When we watched the videos he did up for us, I could see a firm concept and strong execution behind it - and it gets me the feels. My husband is not someone who goes for the frills, and a videographer at a wedding is a luxury of sorts. But having gotten one, we would recommend getting a good one to make it count and Substance Film would be our top recommendation without a doubt. I watched numerous Actual Day (AD) Wedding Videos (practically every single one I can find on YouTube and Vimeo) while I was doing my research for AD Wedding Videos. I was very certain that I only wanted Yang from Substance Films to shoot for our AD. We were so glad to have Yang and team be part of our actual day celebrations. We had a call with Yang before our AD to share with him what was important for us in the video (our wedding vows and speeches) and what he and his team delivered to us was beyond expectation. The emotions captured were so authentic and so precious. My husband and I are very camera shy and awkward people. Yang had so much enthusiasm and positive energy that it also rubbed off on us. He helped us to have fun during our wedding and also gave us pointers on where to stand and what to do so that we can capture the best memories for our AD. He also captured many beautiful moments of my family and parents. A big thank you to Nancy for being so patient - for going through at least 45GB worth of footage to create our AD video! You truly are the best and most amazing editor any couple can ask for! <3 As we relive our wedding moments every anniversary, the video that Yang and team created for us will always play an important part. Knew from the start that I wanted a Harry Potter themed wedding, so I searched for MONTHS to find a videographer who could achieve the kind of effects I wanted to sync with the theme. Only Substance Films came close. I had a bit of doubt about the end product because there has never been a Harry Potter themed wedding video before, and there was nothing to reference. I could barely give them any idea of what I wanted! So how could they do it? But Yang and his team proved me dead. wrong. Even though they knew next to nothing about Harry Potter, their effort to find out about the films/books, their ability to weave in such spectacular animation in a ridiculously short amount of time and make sure that their video could satisfy even hardcore fans is absolutely mind blowing. All our guests highly commended our video and we are left in awe of Substance’s creativity, passion, attention to detail, and determination to provide the best experience for every single one of their couples. Besides that, Yang’s infectious enthusiasm, his ability to film from interesting and unique angles, his happy demeanour and ability to make the couple feel at ease - all aided into making sure that our special day became exceptional. I could continue to rant on and on, but I think it’s better to let Yang’s talent do the talking. You will definitely NOT regret engaging Substance Films for your event. I know I didn’t.
