★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bought 3.2kg of red prawn. Fresh is half ripe. Hence the durian is hard. Very disappointed as heard from fm95 that this shop don't sell lousy durian.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Arrogant and proud seller. Was there before 2pm and asked the seller twice when fresh durians will arrived and he just plainly refuse to answer my question. That's what happens when places like these get more publicity and become famous. They become more "hao lian". Plenty of other durian sellers in Singapore no need to patronize this stall. Don't help them become more arrogant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I asked for one D24 and the seller said $14/kg. I thought about bargaining, but I was too tired. He chose, weighed and opened one for me.
One seed looked dry (sigh). The seller didn't say anything. I didn't say anything either. He continued to open the durian and there was another seed that looked dry. (sigh)
He went to open one more durian and I cheered in my head. Disappointingly, I thought I saw a dry seed in this new durian (sigh). Then, with great speed, he selectively touched a few seeds with his knife before either trashing it into the basket or tossing them gently into a plastic container. Half of each durian was disposed this way. The balance was packed into a box for me.
I contemplated protesting, because it looked like I'm about to receive 2 low quality durians, but I was too tired to articulate my feelings. I perked up when he wrote a price much lower than reflected on the weighing scale (yay!). He knows how to talk to a Singaporean.
I fished out the bills and this is when he broke the silence with the words, "pay inside".

Dear The Durian Story, tonight's D24 are the BEST D24 I've ever had. I shouldn't have doubted your professionalism in picking durians for customers. Most other sellers would have made a show of replacing durians for me, only to be passing it on to the next unsuspecting customer. You knew how to choose the good among the bad, striking a careful balance between yours and the customers' needs. Thank you for your great and honest service. Can't wait to see you again, though I live about 30 minutes drive away.
Sorry for the lame photo, ain't nobody has time for pictures when the durian is this good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ PSA: They do not guarantee small/flat seeds for their MSW durians. Will not entertain any replacement if you receive one with large egg-shaped seeds.
I bought some premium MSW durians($24/kg) from their stall today in the evening. Unfortunately, the seeds were gigantic and there was barely any durian flesh.
Hence, I messaged the stall owner asking if an exchange was possible. I was informed that “it is completely normal and there was nothing wrong with my durians” and they “never committed for the seeds to be small/flat”. They insisted that the size of the seeds is completely a “personal preference issue” and they can’t be responsible for this. I tried explaining that size of seeds isn’t a “personal preference” issue but more of a “quality issue” but was repeatedly told that they have fulfilled their end in providing premium quality MSW and that I am not short changed in any form.
I understand that they are a business afterall and also can’t guarantee that all their MSW durians have small and flat seeds. However, I believe that it is basic decency for a reputable durian stall selling “premium” MSW at $24/kg to at least offer an exchange if the durian are found to have giant seeds with barely any flesh.
They even went on to clarify a *myth* that premium grade MSW *does not* guarantee to have small seeds and will not entertain a replacement/exchange.
All in all poor recovery service with 0% replacement if you happen to be unlucky enough to receive such a durian.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My parent went to patronise this shop for their durians for quite sometime. Their durians quality didn’t disappoint us yet till now. We usually buy MSW from them only. Some ppls may find their durians slightly more expensive. Usually nicely packed and sealed for us if we wish to. This durian story crowded with customers at times

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First time buying durian from this famed durian stall and i’m very satisfied with the quality delivered. I ordered black gold and mao shan wang to be delivered, both quality are top notch. The mao shan wang is creamy and not too sweet, while black gold is creamy, bitter and seeds are small. Definitely going to buy from them again to satisfy my cravings!
9 months later, I’m still regularly buying durians from them whenever there’s season. Their quality of durians are still generally very high and pricing is reasonable. Recently I had their Hu Lu, this is one of the best I had for a while. It was bitter and creamy, yet had a very special taste and aroma, very different from mao shan wang. Their D13 was also quite good, fine texture while being sweet & bitter at the same time. Yums!
