Valerie is very responsive when I contacted her to recommend a violin teacher for my son who is sitting for ABRSM grade 7 exam. My son has been learning grade 7 exam pieces for 2 years & yet still could not manage to pass the performance grade 7 exam. Despite learning violin for many years, he still has problems with basics like bowing and intonation. Hence, I decided to change his violin teacher of 7 years and approached Valerie to help source for one. She understood the urgency of my request to have my son cleared the grade 7 violin exam within a couple of months as he will be busy with national exam this year. We settled down for Ms Isabel as I find her reassuring and she instills confidence that she will be able to help my son pass the grade 7 exam (with merit). After she has taught him for 8 lessons, I could hear marked improvement in his playing. She shows that she knows what he needs to learn and change in order to achieve the goal of not only a pass grade but to aim for higher marks so that he learns more. Valerie is very prompt in responding and recommending a selection of violin teachers with their detailed profiles for me to choose from. She also followed up after the first lesson to ensure that everything was well. I am very satisfied with her service. My violin teacher, Mr Toh, is a very experienced teacher. Besides imparting the skills to play the violin, he also shares the musical knowledge and background of the different pieces which helps me to better understand and appreciate the music. He is also able to provide useful tips on how to practise to further improve playing.
