β β β β β it's good, not great. Not even sure what they do with the items, looks more like they throw it away and keep the ones they can sell. Still, a pretty creative idea and a good place for people to get rid of whatever without wastage and with good intentions. I support it, but would prefer if they actively searched for people who actually need the items instead of people who want to buy the items from them.

β β β β β Anything you don't need but are still reusable, bring it here so it can be put to good use to those least fortunate. However, they're poor but still himan with feelings & pride. So don't donate rubbish. Make sure it's usable & humane.

β β β β β A good place to donate your good conditioned unwanted items. You can walk in at any time of the day to donate. Drop off your items in the tentage area. Do be careful where you tread on, the floor of the donation tent might be littered with small plastics or broken toys. Carpark entrance way is a little tight so do be careful if you drive in.

β β β β β The one at Bishan Street 22. Every new year we would bring all our unwanted clothes and toys to be given away. They did a good job for the underprivileged and those who wish to recycle their belongings. The parking areas is only good for a few cars, it usually cause a jam.

β β β β β The Salvation Army at the corner of Bishan North is a place marker to enter Bishan North via Bishan St 22. A cluster of 19 HDB flats and 1 multi-storey carpark surrounds it. These flats mostly have CD Shelters currently used for tuition, enrichment etc.

β β β β β Wanted to do something good and brought two bags of gifts and new clothes to this place on a Sunday afternoon. The security guard rejected to take it, instead I could throw it away. I am not talking about a container full of stuff, I said two bags.
Next time I should just throw into carousel instead to go there.
5 stars. Minus 4.

β β β β β The Salvation Army (TSA) is a Protestant Christian church and an international charitable organisation. The organisation reports a worldwide membership of over 1.7 million, consisting of soldiers, officers and adherents collectively known as the Salvationists. Its founders sought to bring salvation to the poor, destitute, and hungry by meeting both their "physical and spiritual needs". It is present in 131 countries, running charity shops, operating shelters for the homeless, providing disaster relief and humanitarian aid to developing countries.
TSA was founded in the 1865 in London by one-time Methodist circuit-preacher William Booth and his wife Catherine as the East London Christian Mission, and this can be trace to its origins to the Blind Beggar tavern. In 1878, Mr Booth reorganised the mission, becoming its first General and introducing the military structure which has been retained as a matter of tradition. Its highest priority is its Christian principles.
Brigadier Herbert Lord established The Salvation Army in Singapore in 1935. The first headquarters was an old Chinese house in Killiney Road where the group received requests to commence relief work and social services for women and children. The Singapore After Care Association also sought their assistance in the rehabilitation of ex-prisoners.
The Army's work expanded and moved to a quaint old Chinese house in Tank Road (later renamed Clemenceau Avenue) in January 1938. And after 50 years in Clemenceau Avenue, growing services necessitated another move. After a brief period in Changi, the headquarters was eventually relocated to this Bishan estate.
