Tian Kee Oyster Omelette - Carrot Cake - 84 Marine Parade Central

My go to carrot cake store!!! Worth making the trip there. Get the “Yuan Yang” for best of the both black and white carrot cake goodness! Friendly couple running the store ???

Didnt manage to take a picture of their Black Carrot Cake, but it was sooooooooo delicious! Everyone should try Tian Kee. The lady boss was also very nice and friendly. Highly recommended! Their Cheese Carrot Cake was special but nice too. Do come down to have a tasteeeeeeeee:)

So so, but very very pricey - not worth the price - If I my they had some basic simple fried hokkien mee, no need the frills. And their Yuan Yang carrot cake also very pricey… :(

Ordered the white carrot cake for takeaway. The pieces were not crispy and is on the sweeter side. Chilli is at the side, not fried together with the carrot cake. Insufficient chai po. Service was good though. Friendly lady and gentleman.

Yuan Yang carrot cake $6 has both black & White carrot cake. They do the black carrot cake better. Quite crispy but not as tasty as Bee Bee.

White carrot cake nicer in my opinion. Has a nice crisp outer layer, compliment with its tangy chilli on the side. But i would love to have some spring onions.

Tried their hokkien Mee. Surprise that it had a wok hei flavour to it. However I felt that it could use more seafood taste like more prawn broth etc... That extra seafood taste would really help elevate this plate of hokkien Mee. There's sliced pork, squid and 3 prawns. I didn't like the squid as it tasted like frozen squid. Really bland. However I love the prawn. It was really really good. Fresh and sweet. For the chili, I felt that it wasn't that good. It wasn't savoury enough. Tasted like a very toned down chili. But it did had like a wok hei taste to it. Maybe they could add more salt to their chili and some sweetness as well. Would really help. But I still prefer having belachan chili for my hokkien Mee. One thing I dislike about this stall is their spoon. It's too deep and it affects my eating experience. Kind of made me choke a little but this is just my own experience. However there are things that I do like about this stall and that's their buzzers. So after ordering you can go back to your seat and wait or walk wherever you want. I also like how their lime are kept chilled. Overall I felt the highlight of this dish were the prawns.

Very good black carrot cake with plenty of crispy bits. Just wished there are more soft chunks to balance it out. But overall quite shiok. The Hokkien mee on the other hand was superb. I actually expressed a bit of shock when she told me small portion was $6, but after clearing my plate, I’d happily pay $6 again for another. Prawns were fresh and chunky. Sotong was tender. Gravy was wok hei rich and flavorful. I added lime only half way through. The chili also didn’t do justice so I kept it aside which I rarely do. Overall this is damn shiok. Must return. 3 weeks later: I returned for breakfast and ordered the Ying Yang (black & white, 3rd photo) which unfortunately was not up to standard. The white was white but the black was not black. It’s not here not there. I won’t order this anymore. Stick to either white OR black. Not both. Inconsistency can ruin customer experience. 2021: Back again for the Hokkien Mee. Shiok. 2022: After multiple visits, I’ve learned to appreciate their version of black carrot cake with a lot of crispy bits. It has its own charm.
