Turkish Restaurant Singapore | Ayasofya - 51 Bussorah St

I think I stepped into this restaurant with inflated expectations given it was highly rated at 4.9 stars. To be honest, the food is very average compared to other Turkish options in Singapore. The kebab was extremely dry, and the lamb was too gamey. Tagine chicken was good - which was why I even gave 2 stars. Service was also poor - no smiles, and they don't say their thank yous (no basic manners especially when they are in the service industry). In short, you don't feel welcomed at all. Don't expect a nice ambience too. Taking all of these into consideration, it really doesn't justify the price we paid ($96 for 1 hummus, 2 mains, 1 dessert).

Really lives up to its reviews! Everything was amazing and we were even served complimentary hummus with our pita and a Kunefe (sweet cheesy dessert) which was really phenomenal too! Highly recommend! Abdul was our charming attentive server ?

Great great food! Chicken was soft and crispy at the same time. Bread was thick and soft at the same time. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. Anyone who’s looking for Turkish food in Bugis should come here… we tried CappaDocia a few weeks back and unfortunately, their food just can’t be compared… I’ll be eating here a lot in the future..

Charming team of manager/service staff here. Everyone was incredibly attentive, cheeky and friendly. Their kunefe was exceptional. We also had their lamb moussaka, which I thought was just a little on the oilier side but very tasty. Had some tea on the house and my companion and I couldn’t be more appreciative. Hope to be back soon!

The food is fairly decent. It is definitely on the pricier side, considering the portion of some dishes, but the platters definitely do make up for it. Everything was fragrant and flavourful. Do get a seat on the first floor, if you want better service, as the people on the 2nd floor are either too busy or inexperienced. I have been here on 2 occasions and enjoyed it both, would return.

I always enjoy the food here. It has been my third time coming here and their food never fails to surprise me and surpass my expectation! I will recommend this restaurant to my friends and family who enjoy good food. Master chef Ali and the staff are very hospitable! Apple tea , main dish and dessert are must try.

What an amazing experience. The service was excellent. The place had a good view of Sultan Mosque & Bussorah Street. And the most important thing is the authenticity of the food. Would definitely recommend Ayasofya to my colleagues, family and friends.

After exploring the beauty of Arab street, my family and I got hungry and wanted to find a place to eat lunch. After checking for reviews online, this place seemed like the obvious choice, and it absolutely was. We had a great experience from the time we walked through the door. The wait staff was extremely nice in asking us where we preferred to sit and explained the menu. After ordering what we thought was a decent amount food for a great price, we quickly noticed that based on the dish sizes, we had over-ordered. That still did not stop us from eating almost everything that was served. It was probably the best or close to the best middle-eastern / Mediterranean cuisine that I have had up until this point (I have not been to the middle east yet but have been to Greece). The manager on duty was extremely courteous and made us feel like we were part of the family. He always had a smile on his face and even helped us with getting a taxi. He definitely added to the experience and should be recognized for his professionalism. We definitely recommend visiting if you are around Arab street and are looking for a delicious meal.
