Ripped off by TYT Corporation. We purchased a Hanel Rotomat, manufactured by Hänel Büro- und Lagersysteme from TYT Corporation. When a switch broke last week, we contacted TYT Corporation for repairs. They sent their technicians down the next working day to access the required repairs. The quotation for the repairs followed. Trusting them, we agreed and paid up prior to the repairs. The next day, the technicians came by and replaced the switch within 30 mins. We paid $980 for a job that took 30 mins because TYT charges $245 per hour with a minimum charge of 4 hours. Taking into consideration, transport time of 45 minutes for each trip and 30 minutes for the actual repair, the effective rate is $490 per hour. Next, for the parts replaced, we were charged $1570. These parts are made by Siemens and their part numbers are 2 pcs of 3SU1400-1AA10-1FA0, 1 pc each of 3SU1400-1AA10-1EA0, 3SU1002-2BP10-0AA0, 3SU1500-0AA10-0AA0. A google search result will show that these parts cost less than $100 in total. TYT Corporation marks by their parts 15 times. If you are not a customer of TYT Corporation, please avoid. If you are a current customer please be vigilant when dealing with them.
