Worst experience engaging them. Rude sales person : May. Don't ever patronize this lousy service company. You will regret it.

Customer service very awful. Doesn’t respond, full of excuses and service tone very reluctant.

I requested several quotes for 'built in' shelving above a murphy bed in our guest room/office. Only Uncle Carpenter demonstrated an understanding of our needs, as well as at a reasonable price point (others came in lower, but didn't give me conviction in their abilities, and others were as high as 3x the cost. Overall, I'm very pleased with the result. Their staff had excellent communication, was professional and respectful of our space. The end product looks tremendous. I'd certainly use Uncle Carpenter in the future!

Their website claims: "We bring you customised carpentry works – while cutting out the middleman at the same time. This cannot be further from the truth. This is a one man outfit who is nothing but a middle man. Sunny never showed up and we were always directed to handle his sub contractor (Mr Yap) ourselves. We were told confidently there would be no problem wall mounting our tv console, but it started to come off the wall just after 6 months of light usage. Sunny and Yap just keeps pushing the blame to each other. Sunny would keep directing us to Yap, but Yap would keep asking us for more money to rectify his lousy works. Even after we reluctantly agreed to pay, Yap would find some excuse to end the call and never called back. We questioned Sunny about the fees but he completely ignored us. We are now stuck with a useless and dangerously dangling TV console. Money all lost and still have to engage someone else to remove it. Think twice before engaging Uncle Carpenter and his associated outfits (Thomson Reno, Victor contractor, Express Windows). This irresponsible guy uses dodgy subcontractors and does not even do a middle man job properly.

Excellent workmanship. My family had needed a built in wardrobe as we have moved into a small flat with limited space. I was given several quotes and found Uncle Carpenter to offer the best value and was not disappointed with the quality. After the job was done, the staff even cleaned up after themselves, even though I offered :) Highly recommended service and professionalism.

We've just completed the renovation of our main bathroom and bedrooms, as well as furnishing an additional study. Mr Yi was in charge of the design and carpentry jobs, and we were very happy to work with him and the team he brought to the project. First of all, he is an transparent, truthful and responsive guy and he was able to offer answers to the questions we had and help with practical guidance in the initial discussions. He was always punctual once the work started, so we learned quickly that he was easy to get on with and worked well on the job with the other trades. More significantly, his considerable experience working on homes such as mine ensured his research was comprehensive, with careful attention to detail, and no shortcuts were necessary. He brings a wardrobe experience which added to our renovation value. When we had questions, he was happy to listen to us and we were impressed with his problem-solving skills and willingness to work with options to determine the best result. We consider him to be honest, reliable and trustworthy. He also provided a realistic quote and schedule, and both stayed on track. We would highly recommend Uncle Carpenter for any type of renovation or carpentry works.

I regret engaging Uncle Carpenter who fixed 2 wardrobes for me in late Oct 2020. By the following month, the sliding door rollers were getting stuck for one of the wardrobes. In early Dec we gave our feedback twice but response was slow. 3 reminders were given in Jan 2021 and subsequently was told will send someone to check soon. It has been a month since and still no news. I am now getting very concerned about the quality of the wardrobe because in Jan a strip of rubber about 7 inches long dropped out when we opened a drawer which we hardly even use. In early Feb, we discovered that the alignment of one of the drawers is already off after just 3 months of usage. We selected Uncle Carpenter for its seemingly good reputation but we are very disappointed with the after sales service and more importantly the quality of the materials used. The problems are still pending. Hopefully nothing else will drop.

Engaged Uncle Carpenter to install a built-in wardrobe for my daughter's bedroom. On the first night the right sliding door could not be closed completely and will slide open itself. Informed the sales lady and she said she will arrange someone to come and repair. It has been 2 months and I had sent several chases but to no avail. I am supposed to wait till someone from the company happens to be nearby my area and the person will then contact me to come and repair. I think the quality of the carpentry work and material used is only so-so, if not lousy. Compared to my other wardrobe in my master bedroom which I had used for 8 years now without any issues, I think the quality/thickness of the wood + rollers used for the sliding doors are definitely more inferior.
