β β β β β Zero stars if it were possible. I cannot stress enough to avoid flying United, especially on international/long-haul flights. Yes they can be the cheaper option, but you really do get what you pay for here.

β β β β β United at Singapore Airport hires the rudest group of people known to man. Myself, my wife and my 3 year old daughter were at the gate a couple minutes late because of a delayed connection. They were very rude to my wife. As we see the plane at the gate, they told us they were coming by to help us but they only came to tell us to "move back." I understand they have to plan for check bags and all that but there was plenty of time and the plane was RIGHT THERE. It's not like they are always late and expect us to wait. And to top it off they didn't even bother to help look for replacement flights saying they don't have the same access to the United computer system, B.S. They only offered to reschedule for the next day. No thanks, we called customer service on our own and took it upon ourselves. No compassion, poor customer service. Never fly United, I know I won't.

β β β β β I booked tickets for my daughters and I to fly to the US. I went online to check in and our seats were assigned by the airline, and on all flights we are separated. My girls are minors. I called for help to reassign our seats. The customer service agent was unable to help, I am still waiting for a promised return call. This has happened before with United, and at the airport checkin they couldnβt help. I was left to deal with the situation on the aircraft, an uncomfortable situation and the last thing you need to deal with traveling with children.
I recently flew with Etihad who automatically assigned my seats (together), it was painless process and customer service was fantastic.
Seat assignments with minors doesnβt have to be difficult.
A call back would be appreciated.

β β β β β Ridiculously poor customer service. Overbooked flight with double booked seats. 5 passengers pulled off the plane after already being seated!!! Not offered ANY compensation despite having paid for an upgraded seat AND having status and a United credit card!!! This is the worst lack of customer loyalty ever! No money or credit for hotel or travel to/from airport, even though United doesn't have another flight to the same destination for 2 days! Unapologetic abrasive and threatening staff. Completely disorganized and unprofessional. Never flying United! Save yourself the money, abuse and headache.
