United Relocations - Dishonest and Irresponsible I recently relocated from Bangkok to Singapore. This was my fifth big international move in the past 15 years. As many of you who has gone through the similar relocation, the move is in itself is very stressful - the packing, the leaving your family and friends, the old house, the new house, and so on - and having a reliable good mover is key in relieving some of that tension. After what I believed was a quite thorough research, I decided to engage United Relocation to assist with my move, given its claim to be professional and experts in Thailand to/from Singapore moves. I arrived in Singapore on July 25th, 2016 and the shipment was scheduled to arrive the next day. On July 26th, 2016, the moving crews of Geometra, Singapore's counterpart of United Relocation, arrived slightly late, although they had promptly notified me. Then, we were delayed further due to rainy weather that morning. Once the move were able to commence, I was asked to check off the box number as called out by the crew to confirm everything had arrived, which was the case. I was informed out of the 43 boxes moved, only one was opened by Singapore Customs, and the content of such box was kitchenware. Then, the unpacking began. After the unpacking was done and the Geometra crew left, my mother, my sister, and myself started to arrange the things that were unpacked into their places. And that was when we realized something was wrong... Both of the two boxes that I packed and took inventory of myself arrived, but the content were missing. And it just so happened that the two missing items were my most valuable belonging in the entire shipment! I immediately contacted both United Relocation and Geometra to inform them of this. The Geometra's contact promised to check with the moving crew and get back to me, which he did the next morning to tell me that the crew did not spot anything unusual. United Relocation however just said there was nothing that they could do and never really contacted me back or offer any consolation/assistance. As I did not know what actually happened, I did not want to point finger or accuse any parties. However, I must admit my extreme disappointment with the way United Relocation handled the situation. In the world of good service, the company should at least offer to look into the situation and report back so the customer get to know the truth. United Relocation however offered nothing. At this point, I have proceeded to file police reports of the incident and am contemplating the next legal action. I do not expect to recover back what was lost but I am hoping to receive at the minimum justifiable explanation from the company. At this point, all I can say is United Relocation in my view provides dishonest and irresponsible services, and I shall not recommend them to anyone nor use their service ever again.
