Upin Hot Pot

Came to Central at around 11am and most eateries are not open. Chance upon Upin Hot Pot and they had a banner of lunch promotion that cost $16.80+ per pax. So here goes my feedback: 1. Staff is not aware of the store's promotion and only recommended us with the ala carte. She said is only meant for Monday to Friday. 2. When customer went to check, she said "oh.. aiya keep changing the promotion so I am not aware". 3. Details on banner thought it was quite clear but there are many hidden information not stated. E.g. soup base is payable. We chose yuan yang of 2 soup that cost $10 and $9 respectively, they would deduct a $14 so we paid only $5 for the soup base. Then when we sat down, what sauces would you like? We have this and that for $3 per pax that includes fruits and some appetisers. Yes may sound not bad with the items that come with it but that is not the point. I feel such information should be briefed to customers before they step in. 4. It can be filling but that is because one gets to eat mostly vegetables and just a portion of meat. If you are a meat eaten, then will suggest you not to take the set. Didn't exactly look at the ala carte menu on the cost of items Guess this shall be my first and my last...

Not bad.. not bad at all. Today my wife & i saw these promo wish to give it a try.. After we sat down a waitress told us if we want dipping sauce is $3 per bowl.. not a happy start cos didnt see that coming but after tried the tomato soup(other choices of soup available, each set comes with 1bowl of plater & meat as show on banner in picture one, free 2bowls rice or 1 free noodle) & no limit of drink topping plus free fruits at the end. 2person $16.80plus deal +$3(one bowl of dipping sauce) + Service Charge + GST for less than $42. We felt worth it & will consider to visit again. P/S: Happy with the waiter’s service( last photo ), a helpful & patience service! 2thumbs up!

Think they’re trying to replicate HDL’s menu here but I will say that the food here is better than HDL, although none will ever match up to HDL’s service. Not to say I didn’t receive effusive service here but you wouldn’t enjoy over the top services or small dishes at Upin. We were served by a few extremely pleasant ladies and the bill was wayyyy more affordable than HDL.

Went Clarke Quay outlet on a Sunday dinner to celebrate mother day. Group of 10. Place about 80% full. Staffs are very friendly and accommodating to our requests. Good service. Condiments (free flow) are charge at $3 per pax. Drinks and fruits are free. Soup base we had tomato, herbal chicken and pork based. Meats are fresh. Steam rice are served undercooked, staff is quick to apologize and replaced with noodle.

Great alternative to Hai Di Lao, great value for money. Can use Shopback vouchers. Sauces will come to you via trolley and the staff are more than glad to recommend to you good combinations. Can get 3 soups combination, we got mushroom soup, tomato soup and herbal chicken soup.

Surprisingly pretty good service here despite us utilising the Singapore Rediscovered Vouchers (SRV) and signing up for this Upin Hotpot Dinner + Singapore River Cruise. Attentive lady boss and her service staff attending carefully to our dining needs and hotpot set portions are more than adequate for 2 pax per table seating. Verdict: ??? definitely must try

If you don't need the over the top, fancy service from HDL, this is a good place to consider. The service is good and genuine. Prices though may not necessarily be cheap once you start adding this and that, however, the portion is definitely more than HDL, Beauty in a Pot etc. For this visit, ordered the black chicken soup, slightly salty and less herbal, and the mala broth which was not too bad. For some of the items, they do not have half portion, and so you would have to order full. The sauces and fruits are at additional $3 per pax but did not go for it, as the soup base plus mala is flavorful enough, plus the small dishes and fruits selection are very minimal, hence not worth it in my opinion.

Superb hot pot choice in Central, Clark Quay. Located in 3rd floor, easy to be located. Professional service from friendly staff. The food was superrr. Not to be missed. Hot pot with reasonable price. Good for family/friend gathering or event. Highly recommended!
