Was sad that the original Kok Kee at Lavender closed as I've been eat the noodles for umpteen years. Happy to know that the next generation opened up at Jurong West and but alas, it's a total disappointment. The quality and taste of the Kok Kee 2 wanton noodles is a far cry from original. The noodles is not as refined. The secret sauce is just not happening. Don't even get me started on the wanton. Don't get me wrong, as any other typical wanton noodles, this is OK... but just not Kok Kee wanton noodles. So a 2 stars in this context.

Some may not like the noodles or the char siew. Agreed that char siew is bland but I liked the noodles and its sauce. The noodles are springy and together with it's some sort of sesame sauce and the chilli sauce, it's pretty delicious! Back here again after they have sold their business to jumbo group at the main store at Lavender. They changed their name from Kok Kee to Wai Kee. However, still the same folks managing the stall and the taste still the same! ??

Taste is not as good as the original Kok Kee. Somehow something is missing. Can’t tell what though.

I am not sure what happened, maybe the noodles changed, maybe the sauce did, it is never the same as a few years ago. It used to be my favourite wanton noodle stall. The noodles now are too soggy and the sauce is on the saltier side these days.

There are a few wanton noodles stalls in this market. Each has their own flavoured. This stall has changed name as their original has sold to a group for millions. Texture of the noodles just right, still the same sauce (salty). Wonton is better as compared previously. $3.50, back to old days, good!

Tried this wanton noodle stall from Jurong West hawker centre. They were previously called Kok kee but have since rename itself to Wai Kee. This is one of the few stalls in Jurong West hawker centre that sells wanton noodle and they were the only stalls still operating by 12 noon. There wasn't any queue and i didn't have to wait long for my food to be ready. There only 2 sizes for the wanton noodle and it starts from SGD$3.50 onwards. I ordered the big version which have to say the portion was really huge. Taste wise, it was pretty identical to kok kee, with that signature gravy and chili sauce. Apparently, they also command a long queue. Overall, it just okay for me. nothing special that I would come back to eat.

Apparently this was previously Kok kee wanton mee? Oh well somehow the jalan besar one still screams the old school taste and texture of the times they were at the old lavender hawker Centre. Here is ok if u wanna eat wanton mee but nothing special to shout out about, might be forgettable.
