Continuation from Shumei Lee's Review: Hi Ian, Nice having you speak up after more than a month of sitting on the sidelines (not a single text or email) even though you're fully present in both WhatsApp Group and email thread from the start. We have a full email thread and WhatsApp conversation regarding this matter, so I shall not engage in an extended debate on Google Review about the our case. We'll let the authorities determine the outcome of our complaints of bad practices, withholding of vital information, breach of agreement and misrepresentation. 1. Ms Lee fully acknowledged that the project is under a different company, Untitled by W, which is run by the same person Ms Wilma Wu. Attached is Untitled by W's ACRA. We want to feedback to the public through the right channels, but we have reasonable proof that Untitled by W is preventing consumers from sharing reviews across multiple online channels - Instagram (no tagging, no comments allowed), No presence on Google, *deleted review* on Untitled by W's Facebook page (we can summon this information if we get there). We feel that it is our duty and right to bring our story to light about the leadership of Untitled by W. 2. We do not write with the intend to defame, but to share our experience as factual as possible. 3. Your explanation is erroneous, as expected, since you were not part of our pitch, presentation and resolution. There were no reasonable attempts to resolve (requested ex-BDM (left since our dispute) to speak to Ms Wilma Wu to resolve 30th March; sent an email with our contact on 11th April to speak; but nothing was done), and I will finish with a statement: We made it clear about how we wish to move forward despite Untitled by W's breaking of trust, but were met with complete nonchalance and disagreeableness. PLEASE DO NOT ENGAGE UNTITLED BY W. I have decided to share my personal experience here for those who are relevant and considering Untitled by W, which has the same registered owner and address as Wilma Wu Studio. I wish I could better express my discontentment and disbelief regarding firm's practices and ethics, but I have to be wary of what is conveyed, as the BD Director of Untitled by W has mentioned that 'They will take further actions should it be necessary to protect their company's reputation'. During our first design review meeting on 25th March after confirmation, we were shocked that we were only getting ONE rendering with ONE view of our living room even though we were doing full renovation works. 3D renders have been a major part of our discussions: They presented with their design works in 3D renders. We also shared with their BDM that we have problems visualizing and was assured many times that they were going to show me what our house will look like through renders. During our interactions with BDM we also shared with him our friends' 3D renderings as most of our friends are undergoing renovations as well. It was never highlighted to us that we were only going to receive ONE RENDERING and everyone who were present at the meetings have never voiced that out even though it is a common trade practice that ID firms provided 3D renders for all spaces under renovation. I tried to reason with them expressing how beneficial the renders will be as it will align our expectations, prevent further misunderstandings and helps their customers visualize to make good decisions. Disturbed by the missing 3D renders, we paused discussions with designers on material selection during the meeting & raised our troubling concerns with their BDM. We asked to stop work immediately and resolve this misunderstanding before we proceed. This is just our 1st formal meeting after contract signing. In this time, we have repeatedly requested 3D renders to be provided (even suggested 3D render vendors) and was met with strong resistance. Firms response : "We believe 3D renderings are artist impressions only... we prefer to show our clients millwork drawings..." "As we have mentioned even though industry norm is to provide 3D renders of every space, we have also justified how we are different" I wonder why wasn't this highlighted to us prior to our deposit??? It seems like they were withholding vital information about a common trade practice prior to contract signing and have misrepresented themselves resulting in a breach of agreement. During our resolution stage, they were just insistent on moving forward with only single 1-view 3D render of our living room along with millwork drawings along with physical samples. There is nothing wrong with this process, but this is just not what we needed and what was discussed. Since then, there were no attempts by the firm to top up requested 3D renders or to suggest an agreeable way to move forward (top up $ for 3D renders?). It is 'their way, or no way'. On 5/4/2021, having had only 1 design meeting on 25th March and no further service rendered, we regretfully informed Untitled by W of our decision to rescind the contract due to loss of trust and breach of agreement. They have since refused to admit any wrongdoing and refused to refund us our deposit. In our text and email correspondence, it felt like we were being held hostage for trusting them in the first place, and with no fault of ours. Outside of legal implications, this is also a matter of opinion on business ethics of this firm's leadership. I personally do not condone this treatment towards customers and their idea of 'resolution' (owners did not step up to resolve, leaving BDM to clear up his mess and has since left/fired). I urge readers of this review to consider our story and point of view to make your own judgement. Till date, we are unable to come to a resolution with their firm and our deposit is stuck with them, causing a major distress to our mental state and delays to our home renovation.
