I love how kid-friendly the mall is, There's kiddy rides at Level 1 outside Marry Brown, and a small playarea at Level 2. Marry Brown itself is very kid-friendly. It has kids meal, porridge, waffle fries, nuggets... Love how WGS is also very music centered. It showcases local talents. At times, they highlight the evergreen talents. They also have Gala Laga, something I look forward to every year. It's like a yearly music festival that shows new and hip talents. Due to Covid, these shows had been via virtual platforms. Hoping to catch the performances live in the near future.

A mall that isnt really a mall in Geylang. Similar concept to Our Tampines Hub (OTH), this place has got interesting shops around. Visibly clear decorations of the Malay Cultures with loads of displays, eg Gasing (top), congkak...etc. There is also a TV area for the residents to watch where it also doubles as an event stage area. There is also various food choices available here and the best that we love is Marry Brown (sorry SG, we missed crossing over to our neighboring country, since cant travel out yet)..??.. Down side is that, this place has one of the lower human traffic in this area. A hub but unlike OTH, the lacking of human footprint here is rather visible. Nonetheless, it is a really good effort to try and sustain and reignite the Malay culture here in Geylang. Fyi, we know this place very well in fact. Before Wisma Gelyang Serai (WGS) was up, this place had mini kampong areas.. this was called Kampong Melayu. And it had small shops selling trinkets and even furnitures and such. But as time grew past, many do not approach this area on a normal basis and it lots of shops closing down. The effects in turned made this place into a white elephant and some negative situations happened(shall not dwell on that). So ya, time skipped to present, the relevant agencies and ministries involved made this place alive again. With events and vaccination station and more, hopefully making it better for future generations to come. Cheers #wisma #wgs #Wismageylangserai #wismageylang #geylangserai #famwithsten #piquedwanderer

Wisma Geylang Serai (WGS) is the community civic and cultural centre in the heart of Geylang Serai precinct. A multi-agency development that celebrates the heritage of Geylang Serai communities, and encourages social interactions and community bonding among different communities of all ages and races. It consists of eateries, a place for you to relax and watch the big screen programme on the ground level. You can also find a few business kiosk selling different kinds of item. Can also hold an event here. Right now there is an event happening on the 4th floor. The event is 'SeniKita'. An event that showcases the arts of the Malay Community here. It is happening now till 2nd Jan 2022. It also has a small garden on the 4th floor as shown in the picture below.

1st trip: I reached the CC after 8pm, but it was already closed. The opening hours at the glass door stated 9am to 10pm. Today is the second trip I made after work. I received poor customer service from the officer (whom I assumed is a PA staff) who is present at the counter. After asking a few questions about authorisation form to collect CDC vouchers. I was told to return the next day between 10am to 6pm. I really wonder why authorisation form for CDC vouchers collection cannot be place with the CC staff for ease of collection by the public. The staff is also neither helpful when enquiries are made. Asked then why he left the door unlocked, he blatantly said he's waiting for friend. The photo showed the staff who tarnished the good name of PA and other staff. He definitely did not "care for the people", "serve with care" and has no "empathy". It is indicated in the website of PA: "Our Service Pledge We are the People’s Association We pledge to care for the people With integrity and empathy. We pledge to innovate for the people To deliver confidence and excellence. We are the People’s Association And we will Serve with Care."

Feeling a very strong of community sense here, mostly with Malay community. Very spacious place for hosting big events and also for vaccination. Efficiency staff!

As the safe entry has ease and Hari Raya aidilfitri coming. The place was too crowded and I did want to add on the burden. The decorations is as nice as two three years back. Heavy traffic on the road but seems quite a lot of car park lots available. go early la.

First re-opening of Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar since Covid started. The number of food stalls are limited to around 10 and the standard ones are there like Ramly and kebab. There are also the more hipsterish ones like praffles.
