★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overrated. While we did enjoy what we ordered (momo, liver, gizzard and the omelette) everything else (skin, tomato, heart, eggplant) was average.
What made this a rather unpleasant dining experience was the slow wait time and unavailable items (pork belly was too frozen, tail and wing sold out, soft bone hasn’t been available for a while). Wait staff was nice enough but clearly they were short handed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We chanced upon this place whilst looking for supper - excellent choice and no regrets. Authentic Yakitori and good selection of sake. Staff was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place. Feels so much like Japan (even the temperature)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gosso Telok Ayer is the best place in Singapore to head to should you miss Japanese izakaya food.
The ingredients are fresh and are perfectly prepared all the time, and their prices are definitely reasonable.
After visiting gosso, I struggle to find another izakaya that will top its place in Singapore, and its been my monthly haunt.
Must try items are their shime saba, nanba chicken and kimchi nabe, which is amazing. (Trust me)
Their highballs and lemon sours are a little diluted so do tell the staff you want it to be a little stronger if you prefer it that way.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Their liver yakitori is fantastic. Amazing place along the Amoy stretch that’s not too popular yet. I expect this place to pick up on traffic with time. Food is great and service from the auntie is superb here ; she’s extremely affable and kind.Thanks auntie !
