Best Chinese restaurant in Singapore

At first I thought the Bak kut teh Xiao long bao was special, but it tasted very normal. lotus sticky rice and fried carrot cake was one of the worse I tasted so far, it's just blend with no seasoning. something you wouldn't expect from a restaurant Wallet Damage Level: $ Location/ambience: The only plus point is the cosy ambience here Worthy to patronise again: NO Service: Horrible kitchen, repeated dish served and long waiting time

I liked that the hor fun was well fried and had a nice wokhey. The cod fish was also well fried - crispy on the outside but being soft on the inside. Would come back again to try their other items.

One waitress seemed aggressive towards us by beating around the bush to ask to wait, ask us to have patience. Some food did not come despite two reminders but came later. Felt a little rushed. The saving grace was when we asked for recommendations for food and this another waitress was patient and fun to talk to. Food wise was great, expected of such a restaurant kind of great. Bamboo clam a little "sticky" onto the shell, I have had a clean off chewy Bamboo clam before. Their crab meat "hor fun" is nice too. They call it Chang fen.

As recommended by the other reviews, we went for the roast duck instead of the peking duck, and that was an excellent choice. The skin meat was tender and juicy. We also enjoyed the cod fish and claypot tofu with chicken but had mixed opinions about the fried meepok. I personally loved it and thought it was very fragrant. Overall, the food was pretty good and better than some other Chinese restaurants. Will definitely be back!

Secondly, dishes are served really quick and didn't keep us waiting for too long. Wow, really love the peking roast duck! The crispy skin and the tender duck meat complement well with the crepe and sauce.. So enjoyable to start my meal with this! Other dishes we tried are excellent too.. Including the pork ribs with olive, vermicelli with prawn, and the preserved vegetables fried rice. Can tell that they use all the premium ingredients to prepare the dishes, and have chefs with great culinary skills. Waiters & waitresses are also attentive, helpful and ensures smooth flow on the floor. Very impressed with the overall dining experience. Will recommend more friends here and will be back again ~
