Yue Hwa Chinese Products has several stories selling a variety of products. On the first floor, mostly Chinese medicine as well as herbs are sold. On the higher floors, other products -- collections, dining equipment, clothes are sold. There is even a TCM clinic as well.

Came here for a walk while waiting. I realised there are a lot of interesting snacks to be bought here! I managed to find spices that can be used ti marinate our meats to taste like how they do it in the restaurant. Purchased two big bags of things, with some interesting Hong Kong or china snacks !

They renovated recently. The whole departmental store looks revitalised and modern. Loads of China imported food stuff from tea leaves to sauces.... their price are higher than other Chinese supermarkets. Wait for sales to get bargain buys

As a tourist, I have asked the staffs twice about tax return when I bought some glass ornaments yesterday. The staffs said nowadays travelers can do the tax return in airport. I trusted your staffs and thought the tax return application might be simplified after Singapore reopening after the pandemic. At last, I could not get my tax return done in Airport. The custom officier told me that the shop should ask travelers passport details and take care of the tax return matter. I am so disappointed this time, the staffs just only focus on selling and avoiding doing tax returns application for travelers. Your staffs had no intention to help doing tax return, keep saying can do in airport. As my passport details was not entered to your system, that's why I couldn't get my tax return at the tax return kiosk in Airport after I scanned my passport. There was no information about my purchases.

Lots of choices from Clothings to Accessories to foodstuffs, etc that you cannot get anywhere else except at Yue Hwa. Top floor most crowded, where all the Foodstuffs and Snacks are located!

Founded in Hong Kong in 1959, Yue Hwa is today one of the leading local department stores offering Chinese products in Singapore; from tea to porcelain, silk to bird’s nest, fashion to Chinese spirits and all Chinese food ingredients. It certainly has its fans as customers even queue to get in on weekends. Built by Swan and Maclaren in 1927, the building was then the tallest building in Chinatown and was known as Nam Tin Building (ε—ε€©ε€§εŽ¦), owned by Lum Chang Holdings. The building housed the six-storey Great Southern Hotel (the first Chinese hotel with a lift), along with a few shops and cabarets that were popular among Chinese travellers. In 1993, Lum Chang Holdings sold the building to Hong Kong businessman Yu Kwok Chun, who converted it to the first Yue Hwa Chinese Products department store in Singapore in 1994.

Overall they remain after many years ….. this is the main store, selective shoppers seeking selective bargains or merchandises. My go to place for these preserved limes ?

Located in Chinatown area. This is a supermarket selling various China made or Chinese related products, such as Chinese medications, Chinese displays. There are 5 levels each selling various products (you can refer to my pictures on the floor plan). I frequented the tea section, bought a lot of pu-er from here. Also I got some Moutai too. The staffs are all friendly and approachable. You can go to them to ask any questions. Joke: I did ask a staff if the store sells Panadol. He refuted me that this was a Chinese store, they didn’t sell western products. I accepted his reasoning. However, as I was walking around, I saw the store selling condoms…. It made me wondering if the condoms were manufactured in China, or created by the Chinese. A store worth going to! And so sign up as a member, you will get points which can be used to offset your new purchases. Strongly recommended!
