β β β β β Was a student here in 2018. Only thing nice is the fun times with my friends. The principal is so irritating. I see her i want to run away, so irritating keep talking and taking our free time away. Had to put up a show to entertain her most of the time lol. Finally can leave the school and I'm so happy yay

β β β β β School Principal refuses to admit mistakes, submissive to parental pressure and does not find out the truth. Instead simply jump to her conclusion. Two-faced monster that smiles in front of kids and then secretly find out information. Very sneaky person.
School recess in timetable states 30mim but 10min early assemble and 5 min late dismissal, especially for upper primary.
School organises sports carnival and Japanese School visits one week before school exam. School also assigned a teacher, Mrs Singh, to a class in Pri 5 (2017) that doesn't teach well. Prior to that, this teacher has a record of allowing her students to miss supplementry classes in 2015 for 9 months and not informing parents. (Vice Principal, Mrs Tan, offered the parent in 2015 the option of public canning or detention, refusing to admit their mistake in the first place for not informing.) School Principal, Mdm Rao, said she is very disappointed with the Pri 6 results instead of motivating them to work hard and encouraging them to persevere on to become a Champion (different from school vision and mission)
PE Teacher, Mr Aidil, forces students to be professional rugby players during PE lesson. When students don't play well, he scolds them and said that they belong to a weak generation. To add on to the insults by Mdm Rao, Mr Aidil tells the class that they do not deserve to go for a games day event as they did not even do well for exam. He said he wanted to remove the class from the games day but he decided not to. Very unmotivating teacher.
School has running track that is not allowed to be used before school, during recess, after school, after supp class. School has school field that is closed all the time and accessible only to Soccer CCA (was said to be closed as weather is hot, but even on no sun/rain weather, field is still locked.) School has totally wasted Government funds to built something that is not used, wasting citizen money that government collect from us.
School was alot more organised and structured under the leadership of Miss Oh, previous principal before Mdm Rao. Now, under Mdm Rao, everything is in a mess and she has no idea what is going on or how to help.
Recently on 27 June, school had some sports event and invited parents to come. In her video speech to all the students, she said she knows all the students are putting in alot of effort. But earlier before Term 2 ends, she said she is disappointed with the results and she wants everyone to put in 200% effort. Contradiction and putting a show kind of principal only.
Dont trust the principal easily. She is cunning lol.
Hiding behind a review according to one reviewer is bad but... Hmm... Leave you to that "Sxx Mxx"
There is no retest until you pass. You fail and you stay failed. Must be a one teacher doing kind of thing only, not a common practice in school.
All are experienced before. No biaseness. A running track that cannot be used, a school field that is locked all the time. These are all gathered comments from existing students themselves. Not to forget a joy time that is easily converted to work time because of "misbehaviour". Any misbehaviour also same same lol, stand up or do work slowly also is misbehaviour.
Well, these are MY reviews. Others can state their own any ways they want. Its truth from different perspective :)

β β β β β Was an alumni of this school as a child. I feel the need to review this school as I am still hearing detrimental issues with this primary school even after years and would caution parents to make sure they know what are getting into when they enroll their kids into this particular school.
I didnβt have the best childhood in this school unfortunately. I was bullied by both students and teachers in Yumin Primary School and the management of the school did nothing about it. I remember a certain teacher would slap me in front of the class and called me annoying for raising an issue about a bully. In Primary 2, a teacher would punish me for no reason instead of making efforts to understand I have ADHD as a kid and needed better support. On top of that, the teacher would call me the βdirtest kid and stupidest kidβ, causing me to lose friendships within my class.
If you want the best for your child, I caution parents to think wisely and make thorough decisions in sending your child to better schools. Of course, not all teachers in Yumin Primary are detrimental, some are good and disciplined.

β β β β β I am very disappointed to see such negative messages from people about Yumin Primary School. Also, the tone and language used in the messages shows high level of biasness. May be the person has/had bad experiences, but the way message was constructed demonstrates the character of the person, where he/she finger pointing the name of people and hiding their own entity. There is not much different than the phrase used by one of the reviewers βTwo-faced monsterβ.
So far, me and my sons experience is worthful with the school and their teachers. From Principal, teaching staff to security personals etc . My experience with the Principal had been really good , she is very kind and helpful. She has been very supportive . The class, and subject teachers have given their best to teach my children and I am happy to say that my children didnβt need any extra tution in the last 5 years. Teachers have gone the extra mile by buying practice books and guiding me as how to teach at home. The school has been organizing parental workshops ,which have been very helpful and have indeed guided us as parents to teach our children .
Yes, thats true sometimes children complain about the workload and pressure which I believe is not because of the school, itβs more about primary education system which ends with PSLE. I believe teachers are guardians, and guardian role is to protect, guide and take good care of their students which is beneficial in long term rather than short. Therefore, sometimes they have to be harsh for their long term benefits. Same like most of the parents do with their children. For me everyone is very devoted, helping and motivating. The teachers are all trained and really good .
Donβt forget teachers have a huge responsibility. On one hand they have to cover the academic courses within allocated time frame and on other hand they need to educate students with moral values. Based on my experience most of the staff is putting their best effort for the development of the students to be a good citizen. There are always exceptional situations which need to be treated differently.
Unfortunately, finger pointing and criticizing others are the easiest things to do but what we need from that at the end is important. If someone gives constrictive feedback for the improvement then definitely it is acceptable but destructive would not give benefits to anyone.

β β β β β Yumin Primary is an excellent school, staffed with competent and talented teachers, kind administrative staff and supported by a wise and caring Principal. They follow your child's progress all the way and provide every support necessary, more so when your child is in P5 and P6. I have seen the compassion of the teachers and principal towards the students especially in the last two very challenging pandemic-riddled years. Their hardwork in juggling both physical and HBL classes have not gone unnoticed. Yes, Mdm Rao does mingle with the students and speaking with many, making each child feel special and important. My kid has grown in confidence and maturity at Yumin. She looks up to many of her teachers. Thank you Yumin.
