One of my go to places to eat food that reminds me of my late uncle's cooking, especially the curry fish head. The pork trotters are great, even better when you bring home and reheat it once more for dinner. The must tries are also those steamed fishes. They are fresh and no funky smell. Overall, a must try if you want good teochew porridge.

Famous place living up to its name for fresh fish. Ordered nai bai veg and interestingly it wasnt the norm stir fry with garlic that you find in zichar stall. instead it seem to cooked with some chicke/pork broth. Prawn roll tastes good too, has no 臭油味. Yam ring is good, crispy on the outside and inside is fluffy, taste delicate compare to other zichar yam rings. Great for yam lovers Hotplate tofu had strong bean paste taste, taste soso. they used firm beancurd 板豆腐 which is thicker/harder to season/blend in with the sauce . Perhaps they can consider using softer tofu for improvement. Drink is quite pricey, the green tea with lemon/lime at $3.. although they throw almost half or whole lime into the cup with aromatic jasmin aftrer taste but i think it is very over priced

Steamed fish expert, I was told. Indeed, every table literally ordered at least 3 dishes - steamed fish, shark’s head (collagen) and stir fried bitter gourd with eggs. Coffeeshop setting, sits 10 pax… if you can find a table at peak lunch hour… we waited for a table of 5… patiently. Food wise, really good and value for money…

Excellent steam fish. We had the other popular ones as well. The bitter gourd egg, ngor hiang, pork knuckles etc. had a wonderful lunch. Very crowded indeed.

Prices, timing to visit and dishes recommend in this review. Imo, best zichar especially for the steamed fish. Must order fermented bean paste fish and bitter gourd egg (not bitter). Can skip salted fish minced meat and the fish maw dish. They serve the dishes to our table about 5mins after we queue 20mins to order the food. We went twice. Once at 10.30am, another at 11am. No issues finding table at 10.30am but 11am was tad too crowded. Damage for 6pax; $104 and $140. Both times we order steam fish and had more than enough food for everyone. I love the jasmine lemon tea ($3) even though review mention it’s overpriced. they pressed lemon juices into the tea and tea not over brewed. Really refreshing!

Located at a coffeeshop in neighbourhood estate. A hidden restaurant standard food place is found. Zai shun offers daily fresh catch of the day and targetted at fish lover. It is absolutely one of the must try place if you love fresh fish. There are other food to order from the store. Highly recommended is egg bitter gourd and fish cake. The place is pack with people by 11am. Come early to avoid waiting as there are limited tables..

Fresh Steames Fish as always. The famous Zai Shun Steamed Fish lived up to its reputation. The other dishes were really well made as well. Surprisingly the favourite was the black fungus stirred fried with egg. Really well done . The sweet and sour pork prawn paste chicken were pretty good as well. Top notch zhi char

What a hidden gem for fresh fish lover ! Food: Tasty and fresh steam fish. We ordered a hk style steam full fish (red grouper) . It’s handled perfectly. (Definitely not overcooked like most other places). The fish is so fresh we finish the whole fish by two people very quickly. The fish jaws as another dish is always amazing and full of collagen ?. Bean sprout was perfect. 5 out of 5 Services: the boss and the staff are very nice and sweet! 4.8 out of 5 Access : it’s located in an hidden area b ur u would be able to locate it as long as u find a queue. Worth the wait for sure. 4 out of 5 Value for money : 4.8 out of 5
