Aburi-EN (Suntec City)

The wagyu don meat quality is not bad. I feel the tenderness of the beef was quite surprising. Ramen is flavourful and tasty enough . Quite disappointed in the grilled unagi, the skin is still soggy soft and have a fishy taste. The highball peach and yuzu have very minimum alcohol content which is 7.50 per glass. Will expect it to be stronger .

The food is ma-ma... Wgayu beef slices were thin and meat wasn't as good as expected - it was overcooked. Pork was grilled nicely. The 3 kinds appetiser came the very last and it was basically fish jerky. Would i come back again? Probably not. Bull calculation was wrong.

Food was mostly okay but lacked bbq flavor, the unagi had a fishy smell and the pork buta was quite tough. Grilled Cod fish and foie gras was good! Service here was also quite good as well. Place was well lit and well spaced.

Went over for dinner on 5 Nov 2021. First I was surprise by the portion of the food. The portion is decent and not stingy. 2nd I really want to say the meat quality amazed me. Pork jowl, belly and loin is not tough and surprisingly tender. Especially the pork loin, it's so hard to have loin that's soft and tender. Many food establishments make very tough loins. Then the beef is really great as well. Good cuts and cook well to the doneness. Will definitely come back for more.

Tasty buta don and chicken nanban don. Wagyu karubi was slightly tough. Good and prompt service. Cushioned bench seats. Sgd49.9 before gst n service charge for 3 dons. Will be back again for the buta don and chicken nanban don.

Went to Aburi En (Suntec City) on 2nd Day of Lunar New Year. The restaurant was full and there were only 3 wait staff…with one with very well-spoken English but a tad snooty in his service. Looking at the beautifully-styled pictures, in the menu, we ordered the ABURI BUTA & UNAGI COMBO JYU as well as the 3-KINDS BUTA COMBO JYU. The meats and unagi looked juicy and succulent in the pictures. When expectations were elevated, the downfall will be harder. Both sets arrived, looking far from what was seen in the menu. The meat looked like they have been rushed through huge flames of fire, with the sides tasting burnt rather than “smoky”. Aside from that, the slices were thin. The unagi was also thin and sad. Also, a mention on the sides of the miso soup and tea….both were equally diluted. No complimentary water nor tea served here. When paying at the cashier’s, the staff asked me “How was your meal?” …to which, I replied with honesty. Unfortunately, that was greeted with s stark silence. Guess he was not expecting such honesty…much less, how to deal with negative feedback. To this, perhaps the management would like to consider looking into training its staff to produce qualitative food (similar to what is shown in the menu) as well as managing consumer’s feedback. If you don’t know how to deal with feedback, then you should not have asked in the first place. Will not return.

Quality of food can be better and improve. Controlling of sauce is not very well done. The quality of meat is good and fresh. The rice is relatively hard and overnight. Otherwise it’s not so bad but not that fantastic.

Decided to walk in for lunch on a Saturday. The quality of food surprised us. Portioning was adequate. The beef slices was the star of the show. Service was ok. Prices were above average. Restaurant can be a little cramped. No issues with finding a space for parking.
