★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small hidden restaurant at boat quay. Dishes were very competently prepared by Seki-san. My favourite dish of the evening was the fish in dashi. The dashi was light yet very flavorful. One thing I have to highlight is that the portions here are probably going to fill up only the ladies; may not be enough for the gents.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ HIDDEN GEM!
Had my birthday dinner here and this place is blown mind.
Started by opening the "hidden" front door and entering into a mysterious room that I believe can only accommodate 12 people. You can already tell it's going to be an amazing experience.
We started ordering a glass of highball whiskey and a glass of recommended sake. The highball is bringing the whiskey to another level. Super smooth Japanese whiskey. Personally, I am not a big fan of whiskey but I really like this. The sake is more on the sweet note and gives you a blast of sweetness in your mouth.
From here, we do not even bother to look at the drinks menu anymore. Anything that comes from the bar is simply amazing. The owner of the place personally served us and we can simply ask him what type of drink/taste that we like. We tried various sakes from the floral one, fruity yet taste like wine, and refreshingly fruity. It doesn't stop there. We also had Japanese Gin, Rum and cocktails. I wish I could share this amazing tour of flavors in words. I can only say that you have to come and try especially if you like Japanese alcohol. If you never tried one, please be ready to get your mind blown.
For the food, we had Chicken Karaage, Tempura Wakasagi Fish, Hokkaido Scallops and Octopus Carpaccio, Scallops in White Wine Broth, Duck with Cream Cheese Ravioli, Pork Curry Rice and Milk Pudding.
Chicken Karaage, the one that you thought is the most basic one but it simply addicting. The thin layer of batter and juicy chicken. You won't feel any flour taste like regular karaage. It was very crunchy yet juicy.
Tempura Wakasagi. We thought it was the pregnant fish but without the eggs. Nope. We are wrong. It is different fish and again the combination of the crunchy texture and the fish is wanting you to eat more.
Hokkaido Scallops and Octopus Carpaccio. The scallops are THE SCALLOPS. I have never tried scallops this sweet in my whole life. The "real" wasabi on the side adds another mixture of sweetness to the scallops. This is one of the highlights of the night. While for the octopus, we can tell is very fresh but the scallops are literally too good.
Scallops in White Wine Broth. It comes with very crunchy bread as well. When you dip the bread into the broth, it is like eating seafood bread haha.
Duck with Cream Cheese Ravioli. Very very flavorful! It is a bit spicy and sweet at the same time. Really recommended if you like something creamy and like a punch of flavor in your mouth.
Pork Curry Rice. Again, another mind blown meal. We thought that we are eating fish katsu because the texture is super duper soft but the taste is like pork.
This review is genuinely from me without any sponsor or request from the owner. I just had to share one of the best birthday dinners ever here and definitely gonna come back for more. The damage cost for this wonderful experience is $150 per person which is reasonable considering the amount of food and drinks we ordered.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love this place! A hidden hide out within Boat Quay area for the Japanese. Both food and drinks are great!
