His cases pushed me to become more creative while casing, and required me to think outside of traditional consulting frameworks. Matthew gave me my first three cases when I was starting to prepare for my consulting interviews, and three more several months later prior to my final round interviews with BCG. First impressions can so easily make or break your experience when trying something new, and this was certainly true for me with case interview practice. Matthew was an exceptional teacher - encouraging, intelligent and charismatic. My first cases were a long, long way from perfect, but Matthew's interviewing skills made them a genuinely enjoyable and formative experience - not something that can often be said about first-time consulting interview practice! Matthew has a rare talent for making individuals feel at home while simultaneously inspiring them to improve. Throughout our sessions, he offered detailed feedback that was strategically crafted to address the weak aspects of my performance in a highly efficient manner. Although this feedback was impressively detailed, it was the way in which it was delivered that stood out the most. After an earlier MBB interview in which I was told by an interviewer that I was probably not cut out for work at such firms, his feedback and encouragement gave me the confidence to keep pursuing a job at the highest level in the industry.
