Chicken was microwaved instead of freshly grilled. They were good in the beginning seems like standard dropped.

Very authentic Indonesian food. Lime rice is awesome. Super shiok chili. Tried the ayam bakar, ayam goreng, and pecel set. Everything is sedap!

Ordered takeaway, portion was huuuge with so many ingredients. Lime rice & indomie for carbs which were delicious, ayam which was grilled to perfection & yummy gado gado on the side. Even came with keropok and the two chilli sauces were super shiok! So worth the money & thoroughly enjoyed the meal

I brought family there as we heard the food was restaurant standard at coffee shop. Our taste buds were treated to an extravagant experience. The Ayam bakar was tender and not overly sauced (like some bbq foods), the chilli was fragrant and brought much depth to the plates we ordered. The crispy chicken had such a nice and light batter somewhat like a tempura (heard the head Chef has a secret secret recipe that even Col Sanders would have been jealous off). The noodles looked seemingly simple but blew our minds away with it's complex yet nostalgic flavors like what old hawker Wanton Mee aunties used to do. Damn! This is a true treasure and a testament to great Indonesian cuisine. Keep it up guys!! We'll be back next week again and again.

Great new place serving Indonesian food. They serve excellent Mie Ayam, Indonesia style noodles and a selection of Ayam Goreng, Ayam Geprek,Ayam Bakar and other yummy stuff. What makes it different is that they serve it with a choice of chilli sauces, which includes Sambal Matah, a rare thing to get here on this island. Highly recommended!

Had dinner at Kawani. Tried the Mie Geprek and packed the Ayam Bakar Set for the wifey. Great value for money for the generous serving of authentic Indonesian food. Love the fragrance of the satay sauce, the lovely spice marinate on the Ayam Geprek - The taste brings one back to memories of dining at the rustic warong in Indo. We were impressed by the variety of vegetables (tempe, long beans, cabbage, tomato) Tried the spiciest Chilli sauce. It's highly recommended - beware, you may not feel the heat upfront. The heat gradually build up and lingers on after the meal is over Will gladly return for more

At last authentic Indonesia ayam penyek in Singapore. The shop name Kawani in bahasa Indonesia it means 'Courageous'. Yes indeed you need to be courageous to eat their red and green authentic sambal chili They have 4 types of chilli for you to choose . 1. Kawani original Hot and Spicy Sambal 2. Sambal Matah - Indonesia Salsa Chili 3. Sambal Belacan - Shrimp paste 4. Sambal Hijau - Green Chili I have tried their ayam goreng set special that consists of Kawani original fried chicken with tumeric spice rice, kawani original spicy chili, orek tempe and indomie goreng. It is super delicious!!! And I choose the Kawani original Hot and Spicy Sambal. What a kick!! Wow spicy but shiok?? yummy..get ready a box of cold milk if you don't have spice tolerance level like myself hehehe but you can also choose the sambal Hijau not that spicy. Next the Ayam Grepek set special. Crispy fried chicken smash with sambal matah, aromatic spiced lime rice, orek tempe and indomie goreng. For this set they used boneless chicken compared to ayam goreng set special is chicken with the bones in it Another recommendation for vegetarian friends out there , is Pacel Set Kawani consists of Kawani traditional salad in peanut sauce with aromatic spice lime rice, Tempe Mendoan and rempeyek kacang , do add tofu isi goreng - means deep fried stuffed tofu it cost $1.20 per piece. I so happy that they have this vegetarian item and my god daughter enjoyed it so much . You can also order Tempe mendoan is fried battered soya bean cake , I wish they have the sweet black sauce Malay call kicap Manis that comes along with it when I watch the U tube channel how they serve friend Tempe mendoan. I did gave my feedback to the owner and let see whether they will consider to have that sweet sauce with chili padi in it but overall is good and you need to eat it while is hot ya. Latest update 25th April ,owner said can provide the kicap Manis with chili padi upon request if you order Tempe mendoan? yummy Overall, I m so happy with this stall that I discovered by chance when I went to this coffee shop , they have been in business coming to a week . I was told by the owners that the official opening actually is on the 5th May 2022 but you still can come and eat they already operating. Also I found out they might have food challenge competition, whoever can eat their 4 special sambal chili within 5 mins of course with their rice set meal.. heheheh ,the winner sure to win something. Well I m looking forward to watch this competition, hehehe but not partipating as I know my spice tolerance..hahaha? The fried chicken cutlet was perfectly done. It went well with the lime rice and indomie. While the price is on the higher end for a coffee shop, the large portion makes up for it. I’ll be back!
