★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Martaban Rd is named after a place in Burma. This row of conserved prewar terrace houses is nicely done up. Nice and peaceful road for walks. These 6 Pegu road prewar terrace houses was gazetted for conservation in 2003.
They are built at the same time of the Martaban ones. As the road is so short, with housing on one side, it’s a private little road. However, there are rumours that the old school dental building ( now Rebted by Scanteak and others) will be demolished, making a road connecting to TTSH. Hmmm… Till then, do admire the beautiful and peaceful shophouses.
