★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My photography journey basically grew up with Basic models. The models are really well.trained by their head Booker, miss Bonita, who really taught them well with punctuality,manners as well as way of presenting themselves.
They are one local model agency that has grew up strong and most of the models are based in Singapore itself.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bonita's replies to models are usually rude as she attempts in vain to lure models to sign her exclusive contracts. Never sign those papers! One look at her poorly written website will tell you that this uneducated booker has zero idea with how this modelling world has evolved. Her commission rates are high and her exclusive contract has very long lock-in period that prevents models from taking assignments elsewhere. Nowadays models are smart and avoid all these unnecessarily red tapes by searching for assignments ourselves or working with agencies that do not force models to be tied to exclusivity clauses.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is good to know that progressive thinking is slowly occurring when people start to seriously ponder about whether to do away with the time-fixed contracts. In addition to whatever being mentioned here, what can you do when you realise that you do not like your catty team and decide to switch agency after 7 months into the contract? Legally, you will be penalised because your contract says so. Is that fair? It is always safe to think carefully before you sign any contract my dear fellow models, because you are never certain about how the future unfolds for you. Even fixed deposits in banks do not hold you for so long. And no, there is no family in this scene to begin with, because everybody works independently, this is the reality.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had seen your contract and a 5 years "contractual imprisonment" is unfair and a long time. As freelancers, we know what to do, where to get assignments, how to source for model agencies without those hard, periodically binding contracts and how to market ourselves on social media. We have seen through your predatory clauses and we do not need you to teach us what to do. Neither do those advertising companies, which do not need you to read their minds because they know what they are doing and how to tap into the freelancing industry to find the suitable models. Smart models should think for themselves instead of being duped into signing any lock-in contract, especially one coming from your company.
