Objectively, lessons were well planned with amazing instructors, that gave great guidance and instructions with good knowledge of their craft. If you want to step into the world of HEMA and learn to fight with a sword, bastion is an excellent place to start your journey, helping everyone from every background and skill level. Anyone can pick up a sword and learn to fight with it.
G	Glenda Cat on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beware! They claim that all equipments and gears will be provided but they are usually of poor quality, limited sizes and not well maintained at all. Sessions are usually occurring simultaneously and/or one after the other so there is little time for the provided jackets, gloves and headgears to even be properly dried. I had to bear the stinky smell and be drenched in an unknown stranger's sweat for almost every class. So unacceptable! The people here seem friendly but most are just really fake people. There are better places to practice and learn HEMA in Singapore. I have sparred with people from PHEMAS before and felt that they were a much nicer and professional group of people to hang out with. Also, if you are interested in learning more about different sword styles (German, Italian etc), then just forget about this place. Save your time and money!

Edit: saw someone commenting about shared gear being unhygienic — I haven’t seen that myself. The used equipment are always rounded up and disinfected in front of the students at the end of each class.
S	Second Sun on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ THE place to be to learn Historical European Martial Arts! What I really like is there is a structure to the learning. Things get more advanced as you continue on and I like the progression. The facilities are also top notch. No sword? Use the club's! Jackets too expensive? Use the club's! But of course, more preferable to get your own once you're really sure HEMA is for you. Neatly designed website too with more information than a review can give. I would highly recommend this place.

If you're like me who has developed an interest in historical fencing and swords from video games, books, videos or art, your time here will not be wasted as you will get the opportunity to see such fencing techniques come to life.

Classes have a clear structure and learning objective, and you can feel yourself getting better week on week. Instructors are very friendly and helpful. If you have any interest in HEMA at all, you should absolutely check it out at least!
