BEAM Space Storage - Suite 06-4/5/6

‘Experience was great UNTIL furniture was checked out and I found out that my dining table was damaged due to rough handling. Never heard from them ever since. I will not go into the details, but do be on your guard when they wrap and move your items. I have clear evidence that table was intact before I stored it with Beam. It’s been a month since I filled out a request for compensation, and I wonder if I will ever hear from them…’ After posting the above review, a staff by the name Jason reached out to me and offered to compensate for the repair cost. Am now trying to find people who specialise in table tops to provide a quotation before my case can be processed… Will update after the case closes… Final update: Beam was proactive in reaching out to me even before I submitted the quotation. After the submission, compensation of the exact amount was transferred to me on 16/6. Case closed. Overall, I would still recommend Beam for their (1) flexibility (most other storage companies offer packages of 3/6/9 months etc) and (2) promptness when queries are made. P.s. I later on found out that Jason is the CEO, so would like to clarify that he’s not just any ‘staff’.

The moving team were professional, organised and careful. The customer support team were responsive and helpful. Also appreciate that the pricing information is transparent and easily calculable. I had to dock one star because the quality of the iOS app didn’t quite match the quality of the rest of the operation. It was quite buggy and unpredictable, and my experience was only saved by the great customer support (happy to share more feedback if y’all need :))

My stuff were well taken care of. The pick up and delivery service was very convenient and the rates are the most affordable I found. Highly recommended!

Update: Revised rating My original review in full below, before the founder of the company reached out personally to resolve the matter. There is a lot more understanding and empathy in the service recovery with the founder himself, which I wish would have happened before my original review was written. During my early correspondence, I have repeatedly asked for escalation to resolve, but that did not happen until a publicly negative review was written. Despite the incident, I can recommend BEAM Space Storage. As mentioned in my original review, the whole process was fuss free and efficient. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [USE AT YOUR OWN RISK] While I personally had a fuss free pick up and drop off experience, the service recovery of the company is abhorrent. The company will gladly charge you for a space you did not use, on a recurring basis, hoping to catch unaware customers in a situation where they keep paying till they discover those charges from their credit card on file. While this is excusable on the first charge (arguably), I asked whether they had a process for space optimisation - sending reminders to customers who have been billed for empty spaces monthly, in case they were unaware. When asked about this process, the excuse is unsatisfactory and poor. There is no reminder for customers even after billing them for an empty storage space - clearly a practice to gouge more revenue from an unsuspecting customer. "If I send you an email and you don't read it, that's your problem, not mine." is basically the response form their customer service representative. What a shame that a wonderful business has to resort to low-handed tactics to pry extra money from its users.

Beam will always be my preferred choice for storage. Affordable, fuss free and no contract is important for me. We can almost do everything on the app, bar recently the app has some issues which have been given feedback and fixed quickly. The support are always there to help too, they are super responsive and professional. The movers are extremely efficient, friendly and takes care of your stuff. Overall great services. Will always use them

I had a relatively fuss-free experience with BEAM Storage recently, utilising their space between late May till late June 2022. The pick-up and drop off services were fast and efficient, billing was clear and transparent. If there would be any improvement that could be made, it would be their estimation of the storage space required. I sent my photos of the items to be packed and was advised and quoted for a 200 sqft space and 2 lorry trips using a 14 ft lorry. On the day of the transport, all my items were packed nicely into a 14 ft lorry in a single trip, I figured the actual storage space was much less than 14x7x7 cubic ft, or less than that for the 100 sqft quotable space (10x10x6 cubit ft). Would be great if they would charge for the storage we used instead of the quoted amount. Would I recommend their services? For fast and efficient packing and storage? Definitely! I am extremely disappointed at this company and their customer service. First the pick up was delayed and they had to arrange for a courier service on the spot, and then it took them over a week to catalogue that my items had been received when they state it would only take 3 to 5 days. I wrote in to them to check and they never updated me when it was completed; I had to keep checking the app. And despite checking before I signed up, my boxes were not stored in air-conditioned environment and later when I retrieved the boxes I discovered that the boxes were completely drenched, damaged and mouldy. To my horror, my personal items were destroyed and I had to throw them away. And not only did I have to chase the claims department for a response, the company is refusing to own any responsibility and on top of that, they had been aware of the damage but yet they did not inform me about it at any point. There has been no apology. They did offer me a discount for my next rental, but after all of that, who would want to use their service again? Really, really bad experience, do not recommend at all!

My experience with Beam Storage was great. The team is extremely helpful, and they always respond to my email and messages quickly. I never had an issue since I started storing my things with them in 2017. I moved to a new place and also used their moving service. Awesome moving crew who were accommodating and professional! Couldn’t have asked for a smoother, stress free move! I definitely recommend them. Thank you Beam Storage!
