Typical neighbours coffeshop with some 24hr dining option. Good selection of stalls: nasi lemak, Western, fish soup, Fishball Noodle roasted, Japanese, Yong tofu, zi char, economy mixed rice, desserts Always crowded during meal time, can be challenging to look for empty tables. The owner need to take note on the cleanliness during busy meal time. Tables can be messy.

$3.50 for this cabbage dish. Flavoursome and substantial.

BGAIN 293 Eating House just carried out renovation work to the stalls. Situated at Yishun St. 22 just across the church. There is one stall Rong Zheng selling many varieties of soup meal with rice, price wise is reasonable and food taste is comparable to those at food court. I specially like the bamboo rice with either chicken or pork. Also one stall still selling chicken rice at $2.00 which is quite unique especially at coffee shop. Worth a try if happen to pass by Yishun area.

A good spread of food comprising chicken rice, noodles, zhi char, briyani, chap chai rice and lots more. Can be very crowded from 12 to 1 pm. The fried char kway tiao is seriously good. Moist and savoury with lots of wok hei. This is one of the last remnant of stalls that is only charging $2 for a plate of chicken rice at the time of writing. It's pretty good.

Coffee shop with different stalls. Wanton mee/ char siew rice, mixed vegetables, soups, Muslim food, fish bee hoon, zi car. The soup stall sells bamboo rice, which is not bad. Mixed vegetables stall is good value. Fish bee hoon sambal chili is special and goes well with their different fare. One of the better coffeeshops amongst the 4 in the neighbourhood. Newly opened Hua Zai serves cheap and good soya sauce chicken. Only stall with a long queue here.

Long standing stall such as the one selling pork ribs in black beans sauce, red wine chicken and chap chay. Also their zi char is not to miss. Will always go back for that.

If you had read blog or other reviews on the "best" Char Kway Teow stalls in Singapore, you need to try this stall first before trying out others. Use this as a yardstick instead. In the 80s, tuck away in the Jalan Kukoh hawker centre, there was an old man selling Teochew fried kway teow, I would say, one of the best. The crispy pork lard was amazing. The old man passed on and his son's frying was not up to par and was closed subsequently. Gosh, now, the same taste is found at 花花 or hua hua cooking and eating, block 293 Yishun Street 22 BGAIN COFFEESHOP. The cooks are Vietnamese but the taste is consistent regardless who is cooking it, simply amazing. Of course, it would be perfect if crispy pork lard is thrown in. I did a search, I believe they were previously from Yishun Park Hawker Centre. Hua hua sells carrot cake and several others, I did not try. But, their Char Kway Teow wow me !!! I went there 3 days consecutively... Time to do my Butterfly strokes to burn off the extra calories.
